Noticed that there was an update, went to try the FPS but it's absolutely horrible. Everytime you look at the center of the map the FPS drops to unplayable levels:

CPU total usage was at about 60-70% almost at all times and maximum per thread usage 100%, pretty clear CPU bottleneck. I really hope Respawn looks at this
I'm having the exact same problem, noticed my game looking very jittery compared to any other season, used to mainly sit at the fps cap of 190 but now in lots of different areas it will drop, My GPU used to always be the bottleneck in apex, I've always used rivatuner and done loads of benchmarks in the past, and its always been GPU limited, but gotten decent fps, now some areas it drops to below 100 and I will check with rivatuner and my GPU will be sitting between 70% - 80% usage while the frames are down, so 100% sure that something is messed up badly with this season, performance is terrible and in anything hectic its sometimes impossible to play, disappointing to not be able to play a game that I've played since season 0.
