Re: [WORKAROUND] Apex won't get past "continue" screen on PC/XB/PS (intro loop)

@lIRyuklI Have you tried to repair the game?

  • Any news? I'm experiencing the same bug except I'm playing on steam. I repaired the game, tried flushing the DNS as some forums advised and even tried uninstalling/reinstalling. nothing works...

    I'm glad someone did it.
But not one of the ways helps me. Apparently the problem is that this all works only for those who can see the lobby for a split second.

I can confirm that it works, altho had to try a lot of times. In my case I disconnected trough wifi panel and instatnly connected again, and the game put me to the lobby(I think it will be easier with cable, because u have to be really fast, otherwise it will kick you out from the lobby)Then I spammed spacebar to claim rewards as fast as possible. The exact moment to disconnect internet is when the loading screen is just about to put you back in the loop.

Day 4 of being unable to logon to my account.

User solution for unplugging cable does not work for Steam/Origin when you hard crash before Continue screen.

    Seriously pissed off now.

  • @XyIlv Pretty much the same only difference I am on PS4, if I may ask when did you get this error? The way I got it was I saw my friends being bronze 4 altough they are preds as me, we all restarted the game and the issue started.

I am getting dump files created in the below folders when my game crashes (depending on what client I use).

There is not much readable viewing in them using Notepad (nor would I expect there to be). I have tried using one dump file viewer (WinDbg from the Microsoft Store) but this is not an area where I have any expertise.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Apex\Crashpad\db

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Apex Legends\Crashpad\db

Maybe someone who has the same issue and knowledge can look at theirs?

  • I also wonder if it is worth asking EA to disconnect my Steam account?

It would seem likely there will be a Valentines Badge being rewarded tomorrow. Guess I'm not getting that.

Edit: Well that's not happening. According to EA Support unlinking my account would revert it to the state it was in on November 5th 2020. Unreal.

  • I am having the same problem and I am getting very annoyed because there is no fix.

    From @EAHelp on Twitter:

Hey there! We're sorry that you're still experiencing this error when trying to play Apex Legends as of late. This issue has been one that we've been tracking since Season 8 started. No updates at this time to share other than the game team is looking into it as we speak. -Logan

So after TWO WEEKS they are still 'looking into it'.

If the issue is taking that long to resolve and they won't post any announcement I don't feel like the issue is going to be resolved and they simply hope affected players go away.

If anyone reading this hasn't linked their Steam and Origin accounts - unless you read the account logon issue has been resolved I think you should avoid linking your account at all costs.

  • @XyIlv  This is the exact position I'm in. Ever since that hot fix update I haven't been able to get past the loading screen. I can get past it with an alt account so something went wrong with my main account that is preventing me from connecting to the lobby. I'm losing all hope that this will be resolved before the event ends...

@RadioactiveLolis I think my options have narrowed to:

    a) Tweeting at various Respawn accounts on Monday.

and in case there is SOMETHING on my PC related to my main account causing an issue:

    b) Doing a fresh install of Windows and the game and trying to logon again.

Has someone with the same issue tried logging on via a machine they haven't used their broken account on before?

I'm not prepared to re-install Windows at this time, especially with my alt account working flawlessly. It's hard to see it's a local issue to my PC but this would rule it out.

If they really have been looking into this since the start of Season 8 and it's not my PC it doesn't seem likely I will be able to access my account again and my time playing Apex Legends is over.
  • @XyIlv Hi, I have two computers that I use and I cannot log into my main account on either of them. I have stream and origin and tried on both. I can't get past the continue screen to even see the lobby in my experience, but I also don't see an error code with mine whenever I try. I just press continue it goes to a black screen, then back to press continue. This loops endlessly. If your issue is the same as mine, I am doubtful that reinstalling windows would do anything to help.

  • @dozah2 Mine isn't quite the same. Simply loading icon and then hard crash to desktop. Takes longer when using Steam than Origin. I don't even see the Continue button. If you are seeing the black screen the sounds like solution of disconnecting your internet briefly and re-connecting it will help. Have you tried that? Various descriptions of how to do it a few pages back.
  • There is no fix.... there is no "workaround"... this issue is not "solved".... please stop furthering this issue as finished.

No it's not fixed but there IS a workaround for some, the underlying issue is indeed not solved.

  • Thanks a lot lcwaicw, this method helped me
Step 1: Disconnect network when the loading screen becomes end (around 4 seconds)
Step 2 : If success, it will into lobby screen. Then connect network and press "ESC" to collect all rewards
Step 3 : It will back to "continue" screen
Step 4 : If success, press Continue and you can play now

@Badborodach I can only see the lobby for a split sec, I'm on PS4 and these instructions don't make any sense. It's clearly an account issue and EA helped no one. That split second isn't long enough for me to disconnect my internet, I don’t use a ethernet cord. so I would have to go all the way back to the Home Screen, to the settings and do a bunch of stuff. These instructions literally make zero sense.
