Severe packet loss only in Apex Legends (Vodafone UK)
Hi,
I've been experiencing severe packet loss issues in Apex Legends for over a month and the game is currently unplayable.
Symptoms:
- 20-25% packet loss during matches.
- Red packet loss icon shown in-game.
- Rubberbanding and teleporting.
- Shots not registering.
- Code: Leaf errors.
- Occasional "Unable to connect to EA servers" errors.
My setup:
- PC on Windows 11.
- Vodafone UK broadband.
- Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller.
- Apex installed through Steam.
Important findings:
- Apex Data Center screen shows approximately 20ms and 0% packet loss.
- Google ping tests show approximately 10ms and 0% packet loss.
- Other online games work normally.
- The issue occurs on both Ethernet and Wi-Fi on my Vodafone connection.
- If I connect the same PC to my phone hotspot, Apex works perfectly with 0% packet loss and no rubberbanding.
Things I have already tried:
- Reinstalled Apex Legends.
- Reinstalled the EA App.
- Reinstalled EA AntiCheat.
- Verified game files.
- Reset Windows networking.
- Flushed DNS.
- Reset Winsock and TCP/IP.
- Changed DNS to Google and Cloudflare.
- Tested Cloudflare WARP.
- Enabled UPnP on the router.
- Rebooted the router.
- Disabled and re-enabled IPv6.
- Tested both Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
- Disabled various Realtek adapter settings.
- Updated network settings.
- Tested multiple Apex data centers.
Since the exact same PC works perfectly on a mobile hotspot, this appears to be either a Vodafone routing issue to Apex match servers or some compatibility issue between Vodafone and Apex.
Has anyone experienced this recently or found a solution?
Thanks.
