Solved Apex freeze/not responding entering the lobby
Situation: apex legend freeze/not responding after clicked continue button at title scene. Happened both at steam/origin.
Tried: Update cpu/gpu drivers, reinstall windows, reinstall gpu drivers with UDD, set properties (compatibility), verify game files/repair, added to firewall, set priority of easy anti-cheat to low. Clean-boot.
Cpu usage seem normal before freeze: ~16% decreased to 0% then not responding.
System: intel i9-10900KF, msi GTX3080, asus maximum XII hero(wifi), windows 10 home 64 bit, 64GB ram, DirectX12.
Experience: repair windows/reinstall windows/reinstall game worked once for game to run smoothly, after restart computer the game stop functioning.
There is no way I have to reinstall everything to play the game every time.
UPD：Reinstall the game make it run the first time smoothly, after exit and rerun, it stuck again.
Solution：Apex does not like overclocking, try turn down the clock speed of RTX card by bios or other control app to avoid crash issue. Some manufacture like mine MSI have AI auto overclock function which cause the problem.
I solved the problem by turn down the clock speed of the RTX 3080, basically apex need a better solution when it comes to the overclock part. Because only high-end GPU card will consider doing overclocking and apex is not functioning with that.
