I have same exact issues as op.
gtx 1070 & i7 4790. 16GB RAM.
But I do have samsung ssd. 860 evo 500GB.
HOW TO DISABLE RAPID MODE???
Also my gpu is overclocked to about 2GHz.
My VRAM is underclocked 7GHz.
- 7 years agoSamsung rapid mode is not enabled by default, so if you dont know how to disable it you probably dont have it on.. Rapid mode is enabled/disabled through Samsung magician software, but some older ssd drives of samsung seem to be no longer supported for this.. (not saying yours is )

Change you GPU OC.
Keep the memory OC as is.
Max out the power, temp and volts.
Set the GPU to stock.
The 10 series GPU's have a dynamic OC on the GPU and will increase with how much power you can supply it.
I tried OC'ing my GTX 1080Ti in the same way but i found out the frames dropped until i restarted the system.
Its your GPU's way of saying your OC is not stable but does not show the regular error codes only frame drops.
