Strange account merge issue

I am having an extremely bizarre issue with cross progression, near the start of 2024 I unlinked my Xbox account to a new one attempting to link it to my steam account, but what is really odd is that...

Hey @jackdabomb211761,

Any time you unlink a platform from your EA account, there's a chance your progress will be permanently lost. It is not possible to transfer progress between separate EA accounts.

In some cases re-linking the original accounts can restore access to the missing progress. However, if you've already done this recovering access to that progress, it would unfortunately be lost permanently.

I'm afraid we aren't able to restore any progress lost due to unlinking if it's not recovered upon re-linking the original accounts.
