Stuck on Load Screen [PC]

I know this is something people experience often but I'm at a loss as to what to do to fix this. I was playing and then went away for lunch and when i came back the game said i was disconnected due to inactivity which is normal but when I attempted to reconnect I got the dreaded infinite load. I've tried the following fixes and none have worked

1. Restarting the client

2. Verifying files via Steam

3. Task Manager forced close of Steam Client WebHelper > Close Apex > Relaunch Steam

4. Disabling internet connection to bypass infinite load

5. Flushing DNS via Command Console

6. Unplugging all USB devices

7. Verified latest graphics drivers

8. Playing through Origin instead of Steam

9. Different servers (both in the US and European)

10. Playing on a different account

Number 8 and 9 had an interesting result. When launching through Origin it wouldn't infinite load but tell me there was no internet connection. Selected every server available and could not get it to log in to any of them. I literally don't know what else to do. My internet is fine and I was playing prior to this happening, the game wasn't even closed out when this occurred. Again, I've had this happen before but have been able to fix it via one of the item listed above. Don't know what else to do and SUPER frustrated that this is still something I have to deal with years after this game's launch.

Thanks for taking the time to read and any suggestions/help.

  • Update (4/29/21 at 3 AM GMT): I deleted the game and all associated files. Reinstalled the game and was able to get to the lobby. Played one game and then exited to make sure it was good. Launched the game and I have the infinite load again. Would LOVE a response from someone at EA on this. I put money into the Battle Pass so if I can't finish it up, then what? Waste of my money? This is absolutely infuriating...

@HayeteBahadoriI was having some problem with this game on my PC today so I had to do a complete re-install and I wound up with this issue myself. However, after a bit of educated guess work I found a solution which got the game working for me.

It is quite possible that the game is trying to load a corrupted file from your PC hard disc. So what I did was, with Origin closed (and not in the game obviously) I went to the "Star Wars Squadrons" folder that was on my  hard drive (it contains sub-folders named "CrashDumps", "RimeTemp", "Screenshots" and "settings". What I did was deleted the entire "Star Wars Squadrons" folder. I then started up Origin and then started Squadrons and the game loaded to its main menu and I could play normally> went out of the game and then back in to ensure it was not a one off and it loaded beautifully.

If you have the cloud save on in Origin (its on by default) all your settings are saved to the cloud, so the game will recreate the deleted folder on your PC's hard drive in the same location and it will update them with the files from the cloud save.

If you are worried about deleting the file, just rename it to something different so the game doesn't recognise it, or back it up to somewhere else.

See how you go with that.
