Forum Discussion
I believe the only thing we can do to help is to provide more specific data and better descriptions. I propose two options:
1 OPTION : to present info in this way, a list with the problems we encounter divided by sections (Lobby, Arenas, Battle Royale, others) use short sentences.
- LOBBY
- Game stutters only when switching modes for the first time (selection screen).
- Game stutters only when map rotates.
- CPU 100% usage only in lobby and first games.
- ARENAS:
- I can play arenas but the 2D UI to select a legend won't appear until the second game of arenas.
- When playing first game of arenas until the third round, my game stutters, it has high ping, prediction errors, low fps ...
- After a third round of arenas CPU goes back to 16-20% and GPU has micro spikes which disappear after a while.
- A second game of arenas will play with some of the above errors.
- A third game of arenas will not display any error.
- If map is phase runner and it is first time playing, portal animations won't load (maybe it's correlated to some error in this list).
- BATTLE ROYALE
- Similar to arenas but with bigger problems as the map is bigger, it feels like every time the game loads a new asset (3d, 2d, effects..) it stutters.
- Sometimes ping goes to 500ms due to stuttering.
- Code net: error, is highly probable on first game when new map is loading.
- Every map rotation causes the above errors again.
2 OPTION: to use technical software to gather more accurate data and post result is this forum, as the file that I'm attaching.
The program I'm using is System Analyzer by Intel. As an example I've been able to discover that the Pixel Shader starts killing samples after selecting firing range. Always present info with timestamps, game screens or indications about when something is happening as in my example, and don't forget to include your specs. My chart has been already been seen by a Community Manager and has been sent to devs.
@TrueTripleHWhilst your comment maybe a novel idea no matter how specific or more descriptive people are when commenting on these forums, social media etc persistent & problematic issues have been affecting this game for months many which still haven't been fixed & so I wouldn't envisage the options you mention would make much difference tbh.If there is an inability or unwillingness to fix these issues in the game already then better word selection won't make much of a difference. Many of us forum members as well as Youtubers have commented in the past that EA & game devs never tend to respond unless Pro Players & social media commentators are in outrage at aspects of the game. Also there is the small issue that many players may not be as tech savvy like players such as yourself (you kind of lost me at pixel shaders).Gauging by your comments it suggests your a PC player whilst I am a console(s) player & so recording & reporting data,CPU usage which isn't so easy for console players like me.

Apex Youtuber Omega commenting that EA Help are calling for fellow Apex players to give feedback on their gaming experiences & missing game content by sparing 60 mins & completing a questionnaire. The main question is will they actually listen to peoples issues.Omega also mentions about Seer's nerfing patch due out next week & an outpouring fan support calling for Events to be scrapped in Season 11 wanting the devs to soley focus on fixing all the various issues affecting the game & the firing of a Respawn dev.

@Redmattgame I appreciate your comment. I know how frustrating it is, I believe another option is to get some pro or TTVs to raise awareness of this problem. I've heard Shivfps has been having problems recently.
The biggest problem I see is that devs and pros usually have access to NASA computers which can eat whatever you throw at them, leaving low spec and average computers out in the road. By the way are you playing on Xbox? I have a theory as I have never heard from another console system having the same problems, that maybe this bug is a Microsoft thing.
P.D: A pixel shader is a piece of code that calculates how the pixel should be represented, more saturated, less saturated... it controls the style of the 3d model, more cartoonish, more realistic, more shiny ...

I've played Apex on Xbox One & PS4 since season 1 & never really experienced performance/server issues until season 6 ( coincidently when cross-play was introduced).I bought a PS5 in April this year in the midst of the issues affecting season 9 & whilst the PS5 became my main console for playing Apex in reality I just couldn't play the game on all 3 consoles for weeks the issues were that bad.I've certainly been disappointed that Apex has never had a next-gen upgrade for the PS5 & Xbox X/S like other games like Fortnite have. And as you mentioned about the tech that devs, pro's & Youtubers have compared to us mere mortals because a lot of the time I watch their videos it seems as though they are playing a completely different game to the one I am used to playing in terms of how smooth & trouble-free their games seems to play (& I'm playing on a next gen console with the PS5)
As I mentioned in a previous comment I believe Apex has several bugs/issues (not just one) affecting the game on all formats & with every new event & patch only seems to add more problems with the game.

@RedmattgameI watched the video, sounds like the EA feedback session is concerned primarily with missing items, aka the store items, aka where the money is. Appreciate the call out, but the skeptic in me says this just lines up my belief that all they care about is stuff that sells skins and cosmetics. It also leads me to believe the likelihood of them focussing on fixing the game in season 11 is next to zero... but as I've said in the past, I'd be
stokedchuffed (I can speak UK) to be wrong on all this. - 5 years ago@MintyBatsnack I completely agree & although I am a bit long in the tooth with regards to believing every rumour circulating around about Apex I did believe those about the possible server contracts that EA/Respawn use for Apex & Titanfall were ending & new servers (provided by either EA or another company)was a big possibility. It just seems that EA/Respawn are happy with the status quo & whatever continuous problems stem from that so be it as the old saying goes 'familiarity breeds comtempt'.

I noticed that at the end of a few games I had of Apex over the past day or two I had the old Match Quality Survey appear on screen asking 'did I enjoy the last match I played?' question with just a 'yes' or 'no' answer.Apparently my answer will improve Apex Legends but wouldn't it be better with a comments sections as well (30 words or so) so at least can briefly explain as to why I didn't enjoy my last game.
- 5 years ago@MintyBatsnack nah not even that they do here, in May i got 150 heirloom shards stolen from my account, that thing just disappeared from it, and they didn't gave me back, including they told me that i was lying (with my clip showing i receiving it and screaming like a whale) they told me if i want another i must buy 500 packs
lmao - 5 years ago@Redmattgame did you see that they changed yes or no position? before they were yes left and no right

@Redmattgamedid you see that they changed yes or no position? before they were yes left and no rightThe thing is the question usually pops up just after I've been stomped by a Predator team early in the game or when performance issues like stuttering & lag spikes have ruined my game. One my favourite parts of the game (I'm being sarcastic here) is being stomped by a fully armed Predator team whilst I'm struggling to find a poxy Mozambique or P2020 or when the game freezes on me leaving me a sitting duck for the enemy/enemies to kill so of course I didn't bloody enjoy the game EA/Resapawn.And for all the 'no's' I put down on the Survey has it improved the game for me like EA/Respawn claim it will,of course it hasn't
- 5 years ago@Redmattgame yeah, this is getting worse and strange... dude... they're looking at this for 2 months, how can this be true? 2 months? a Big Company that belongs in another giant Company can't fix this thing in 2 months? where is going the 1,02B$ they made in the last quarter? Jesus Crist all i want is to play this game

💡 💡 Guys i've tried one thing today and it maybe shows that this bug isn't a random thing that happens to randoms PCs, i completely uninstalled apex from my computer using the app ''Revo Uninstaller Pro", this program removes everything of what you want, so after that i've downloaded apex again and the stuttering and 100% usage was in the same way, maybe this is a valid info to the DEVS, if they're looking at it.
something specific in the Software that we have in common is causing this. 💡 💡

it looks like we are trying discover that problem harder than devs

Just managed to play 2 matches of BR Trios & in the first match me & a teammate got down to the final 2 teams & the servers were reading at a steady 30ms ping then as soon as I could see an enemy in the foreground the ping shot up to 500ms & fluctuated constantly until I died which tbh absolutely infuriated me.I performed a speed test on my PS5 before the 2nd match & my Download speed recorded at 50 Mbps & Upload at 12 Mbps.As soon as I landed at Containment on the Kings Canyon map (which was a hotspot) & encountered my first few enemies the game proceeded on freezing & continuous lag spikes where the ping was jumping up & down like some crazed Kangeroo.I think its safe to say the persistent problem from season 9 where encountering enemies causes spikes/freezing is back with a vengance (although it probably never left the game tbh).
My patience for the game now is lower than a snakes arse with my faith anything will get fixed even lower.

my pc doesn't have much that can be suspected though. so maybe it is one of our drivers? i only have apex installed and windows apps
- 5 years ago@xiopiyeotl yes, it's frustrate to see that people here without any knowledge and money are trying harder than them .... if they only talk one word with us would be nice, but at this stage.... i'm considering hard to stop playing apex since s11

The game is broken and so does the new legend, i mean does Respawn even care for the community?

@NoJamBros21 wrote:The game is broken and so does the new legend, i mean does Respawn even care for the community?
And the good news is (for some) there is a nerf patch for Seer coming out next week but I heard from several Youtubers who got to beta test Seer before his release & they all commented that he was too OP to start with & that nerfing him was a certainty so soon after his release .It also only adds fuel to the fire to the suggestion that game devs don't play/test their games properly & only seem to concentrate on 'easy fixes' when called upon but cannot seem to fix the more fundamental issues that prevent many of us from playing the game in the first place.

Wow, today I've been able to play without any problems. No stutters, no predictions errors, no high ping ... I couldn't believe so I have relaunched the game again to test it, but the problems came back again, which puzzles my mind because it seems that somehow the bug is related to servers or my network somehow. The better the server the less problems I have.
That would explain why after selecting new game mode or new rotating map for the first time the GPU stutters a few seconds, it seems like a synchronicity problem with the servers.
Still having the 100% CPU usage in Lobby thought.

It could well be that you maybe experiencing network inconsistencies via your ISP but many of us are suffering the same performance issues across different formats like lag spiking, game freezing etc so surely the problem isn't that we are all playing on such bad networks & yet Apex's Data Center servers are somehow infallible. Before attempting to play Apex now I always test the connection speed on my PS5 & check out Data Center activity on various websites like Apexlegendsstatus.com & Gameserverping.com.The alarming thing for me though is just by observing the Data Center activities on these sites just for a small period of time clearly shows how unstable the game really is at times.
I agree with this. The servers are unstable. In the main menu, the servers always show that i have 40%-60% packet loss, 35% on a good day (ping 80-120) However, when I am in game, the game shows 0 packet loss which is weird af. Now mind you, when I'm at my parents', the in-game menu shows 0% packet loss as opposed to where I live. It's weird though, I connect to the same servers, and I'm not that far away from my parents. Idk tho.
