Unable to connect to the EA servers

I can’t get past the first screen. I press X and I get a “Attempting connection…” message and then I get another message that says “Unable to connect to EA Servers. Please check your Internet connect...

Try changing your PC's date to about 2 weeks ago before launching the game. You will have to fix the date after the gaming session though, and re-do that every time you want to play until EA fixes this. This is what solved it for me
