We've noticed your computer currently is offline issue

I've seen a bunch of posts on this. No conclusive fixes so far.

I've got over 200 hours on the game, been playing off and on since a few days after launch, I've had crashing issues before but since a few patches before Season 1 I've been perfectly stable until three days ago. Three days ago the servers started getting a bit laggy, for the first few minutes of 80% of my games it'll move at slow-motion, and seemingly randomly I get games that I just have to quit because the game will freeze for twenty-ish seconds at a time the whole game - I've gone twenty minutes with me being frozen for twenty seconds before it updates to show me my new position before instantly freezing for another twenty seconds. I've never had any issues launching the game, though.

Immediately before this issue popped up I saw a post on here with a fix for the model detail being stuck on High issue, which is how it's been since I installed the game, but I wanted to try it on Low to see if what it was like - so I shut down Apex to try it out, changed my video cfg file, then I tried to launch Apex and got hit with this "We've noticed your computer is currently offline" problem. I initially thought I'd screwed something up, but upon looking into the computer offline issue further it seems to just be a coincidence.

I can't play the game. It keeps throwing this error and won't let me launch the game. I'll detail what I've tried below, I'm more than willing to try and and all of this again if need be, I just want to get back to playing!

I have tried:

Additional info, checking my netsh proxy it shows I've got Direct access. I'm connected to my router via an ethernet cable. I can access the internet just fine, stream stuff, download, upload, and play games from Steam, say, just fine.

Other Origin games DO NOT WORK. I obviously haven't tested every game on the platform, but the few free games I had in my library - Dungeon Keeper, Mass Effect 2, and Nox - all popped up an error message saying "We're sorry, an error has occurred. We are unable to connect to EA servers to activate -insert game here- on this computer using your account. Please try again later." Attached is a screenshot of the message for Dungeon Keeper.

Also, my younger brother plays with me lots and has his computer literally three feet to my left, it's a similar spec computer, connected to the same router, also with an ethernet cable. He can launch the game and play just fine.

As I said previously, I'm more than happy to jump through any and all hoops needed, run any tests, I'll even sing and dance for you if that's what it requires, I just want to be able to play again...

Thanks for the time,

- Night

  • The temporary solution is to use a VPN. That appears to fix it 100% of the time.

There are free VPN's out there, ProtonVPN is a name I've heard as being a good free one, but you can search yourself.

Edit: After you launch Apex while using the VPN, if you exit the game you should be able to launch just fine with or without the VPN from that point forward. Not a clue why, but that fixes it.

Thanks for letting me know it's a known issue! Guess I'll be waiting for an official fix, then. Have a good night!
