I just reset my computer and downloaded all windows updates and nvidia drivers but when I start apex it comes with a white screen and game sound in the background help is needed. I uninstalled and downloaded it again but problem is still there
Hi all, I did all the steps that you have discussed about till now except that, AMD and Rizen chips part. I used to have vanguard i tired uninstalling it and tried to open apex, reinstalled it after that to. Still the same. I tried to open it via steam and EPIC games as well but still i am not able to get into the game still struck with the white screen.
@StylessniperMay I guess, are you using AMD cpu (with embedded GPU) + Nvidia GPU ? (+ Windows 11)
I got similar issue but my Apex got force to run in Window mode, and in the window all is black with the game sound and game logic still running behind that black window.
I still can click and manage to the lobby, I hear the story playing when there have and update that come with story as well. But just cannot see anything because all is black window.
I'm quite suspect that combo "AMD cpu (with embedded GPU) + Nvidia GPU ? (+ Windows 11)" maybe the cause. Just want someone that have the same setup to confirm with.
I didn't try fixing anything anymore because I already playing another game.
And I'm very busy guy, I don't have time whole day to keep fixing PC + Laptop like an IT staff in a company just to play Apex.
You might be on to something with this, I have a very similar setup and get the same thing. AMD Ryzen CPU with integrated graphics paired with an NVIDIA GPU on Windows 11.
I figured mine out. I had to uninstall AMD Adrenalin, then reinstall it and choose to install all CPU drivers. After a reboot, I then I went into Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics and manually added all of the Apex .exes in the folder where you have Apex installed to. I then changed all of these to manually use my NVIDIA card (High Performance).
Apparently Windows 11 controls which GPU to use now and I think it overrides NVIDIAs settings in their control panel
I was then finally able to load up the game without a white or black screen
@TheFlyingKitty I also use AMD Software: Adrenaline, however I didn't have to reinstall the program. You might of had a corrupted AMD driver or something else that had caused the issue.
1) If you have any other program similar to DS4, (such as reWASD) running, turn these off before and during gameplay.
2) Check to make sure everything on your PC is updated to the latest version and is set up correctly.
I know with AMD Software: Adrenaline, the program has global video settings, which it applies to all your games. This might be what is causing the issue with booting up the game. For me, the anti-lag and all those related settings are all turned off, (or set to the lowest setting I can have them at). I was having long loading and other issues in my games when these settings were enabled.
Note: The global video settings is usually enabled by default, so check to see if its on for Apex.
How to check and change the global, (and game), video settings within AMD Software: Adrenaline
- Open the overlay, and look at the right side of the window. You should see: "Graphics Profile". Click on the arrow to the right side of "Graphics Profile". You should now be seeing the settings for the "Global Graphics".
- Change the global video settings, (as mentioned, I have these settings turned off or set as low as possible).
While on this page of the overlay, also click on the "Games" tab in the top left corner, and then click on "Apex Legends" from the list of games. What you're doing now, is checking to make sure the game itself isn't following its own settings.
3) Try clearing the game/launcher's cache. Each launcher has its own method for clearing the cache.
To follow a guide on how to clear the cache, click on the platform that you launch Apex with:
- EA App: Go to your game library and click on Apex Legends, then click on "manage", and then "repair".
- Steam: Go to your game library and click on Apex Legends, then click on the gear icon near the right side of the launcher, (below the game's artwork banner). Now, click on "properties", then "installed files", and then lastly, "verify integrity of game files".
- Epic Games: Go to your game library and click on the 3 dots next to Apex Legends. Click on "manage", and then "verify".
Note: If you don't see this as an option on Epic Games and you have Apex Legends installed through the EA App, follow the steps for the EA App.
5) Lastly, you can try repairing your system's files. Sometimes the system files would get corrupted, (even when you don't do anything besides turning the PC on and off).
- Type, "DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" (without the quotes), and wait for it to finish.
Note: DISM stands for "Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool". It often repairs Microsoft related files, such as issues with Window apps. Some problems with the next file checker can only be fixed after running this one first.
- Now type, "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes), and wait for it to finish.
Note: sfc stands for "System File Checker". This one will repair system files, (such as important Windows drivers).
- Lastly, restart your PC.
Note: This won't reinstall Windows. This is just a way to integrity check your PC's system files.
I hope this helps you get back to fighting in the outlands!
The game just won't show up, no visuals. I can hear sounds from hovering over buttons etc, even starting matches and playing as normally (as if you can see things).
Everyone talks about crashes or white screens, but for me, it has been like this since that September 19 patch. Playing on Steam, and also tried on the EA Apps with the same result. Anything I can do to fix this?
ea pls fix your game, ive been waiting for the fix update to fix this bug, but even after downloading the new 130mb update on steam apex still launches on dx11 with a black screen: the game is running i can play it; log in and hear the music while in lobby i can even queue up to whatever gamemodee BUT my apex screen is always black or white as shown in the png file. i tried launching it with dx12 it returns an integrity error at 0x800000. i tried everything possible from checking integrity of the game to running it as admin to restarting pc, redownloading.. everything but nothing seemed to work pls ea help me its been 4 weeks and i cant play apex
