Where are the footsteps? It's been 10 seasons without them!

Many times enemies approaching from behind (when they are not in my line of sight) are completely silent. The moment I turn my sight onto them I am starting to hear footsteps.

Currently I don't have a video of the issue (but I had many of those in the past). As soon as I happen again I will record it and post it here.

I am playing using 7.1 in-game + Soundblaster X3 (Super X-Fi set to preset "apex legends") + Beyerdynamic MMX300 headphones.

I am curious on what configuration do You play that You hear footsteps everytime?
