Why does my download keep restarting

My download keeps downloading to almost being done and then randomly will jump back down to 10 gigabytes remaining. I have tried restarting origin and the download. Any ideas?

This can happen with a low quality Wi-Fi connection.

Connecting your machine to your router directly with a cable rather than via Wi-Fi will improve your connection quality and should be done if at all possible.

@EA_Barry thanks a lot, this really helped and when i re-downloaded the sims, in the blink of an eye, it was already downloaded, once again, thanks so much.

id do this but the strange thing is when i download/update sims 4 and content its fine got no problem, but everytime i need to update star wars jedi survivor it does this keeps restarting download says ive got to wait 534h then goes down to 4k out of 1.49GB then to 614mb then back to 4k, my internet isnt the best but everything else i download is fine, is it just a jedi survivor problem? because right from release ive been facing this same issue with downloading the game
