Will progress be lost if I unlink accounts?

I currently lost access to a steam account that was connected to my EA. (I launch Apex off the EA Launcher). If I unlink my previous steam account to my new one, will I lose all my progress? I alread...

First to confirm, if you unlink a platform account (in this case steam) from it's EA account you will not keep any progress or items on that platform. This is because progress and items for each platform are stored on the EA account side.

Secondly, EA accounts can also only have one Steam account linked in their lifetimes. If you are trying to link a different Steam account to your EA account you will be unable to do so.
