Xbox One Game Chat - Kinect

Recent events have forced me to rely on my Kinect for game chat and party chat when playing online. I can “party up” with friends through Xbox Live and be able to communicate with them, but when I join a squad through matchmaking my Kinect isn’t being detected or something? 

Any help is appreciated!
