- tyl04134 years agoSeasoned Veteran@dragonslayerxxx1 I'm still fine with most stuff on Steam bc even if they're not DRM free they're easy enough to patch, problem is when you get Denuvo, extra accounts, constant connection requirements involved it becomes much harder to fix. If they are not willing to put out a DRM-free version well at least let us fix it ourselves.

@TerofishyIt has been a long time since anyone has 'owned' a game, you own a License to use the software and this can be revoked anytime.
- tyl04134 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Trokey66 and as long as you treat it like that and are okay with it there's no reason for it to change.
- @Trokey66 yeah but how many times do you see that happen? Single player games are basically the same, but they don't care as long as you paid them for it lol.
- @AristarhUcolov2 My biggest concern as we approach launch is the server performance. It seems like EA games across the board are not performing well online, not to mention hackers. Apex and TitanFall are having serious hacker and server problems. BF4 lags and skips for me on occasion. If this happens in BF2042, then yeah, I'm going to want a way to play this offline to at least feel like I'm getting my money's worth.
- Trokey664 years agoSeasoned Ace@ArchAngeL-PCX Very true however some on here think they own the game, they don't, that is the point I am making.
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 We own the physical disc/digital download of the game. What you're talking about is Intellectual Property. Pretty much every publisher intentionally treats a game you buy as a service instead of goods, which is why there's DRM and the aforementioned license to run the software on your console. It's dishonest, since we actually paid money to obtain the copy of the game, and things don't seem to be changing anytime soon.
@Trokey66They'll get it when their online only game gets shut down lol.
I played Marvel Heroes Omega for 4 years and in an instant it was gone. One of the main creators talked about how odd it felt because with other games he made he could at least replay it and show someone. But he spent like 7 years on Marvel Heroes, and its just gone. Servers shut down and no game to show for it or anyone to play. And everything players bought in game got shut down with it.
- ChrisAWJBethel4 years agoSeasoned Ace@ArchAngeL-PCX All the more reason for offline bots in Battlefield.
- @ChrisAWJBethel Exactly. Like in Battlefront 2. If EA shuts that game's servers down, you can still play Supremacy, Co-op, Starfighter Assault, standard Arcade modes, and the single player all offline.
