This game is still broken. I played 10 games this weekend and only 3 worked correctly and showed the right hit count with shots. The data also show the number of players and their hit counts. The BattlePass is not giving credit for mission points. This game has ruined the franchise. If anyone asks me, and they do ask me, if they should purchase this game or any BF to come out in the future, I will yell them not to waste their money because EA is trash. I am so mad that I spent my hard earned dollar on this trash!!!!!!

Played TDM last weekend and it felt like a whole different game, the TTK was great! I was getting kills pretty easily and I mainly use LMGs, which have poor TTK.
Last night I played a conquest game and was back to the old TTK which means everyone is a bullet sponge but me.
Definitely an issue with latency or lag and I'm in midwest of US getting 850Mbps and 5ms latency with testing my connection.
It's always been this way and I wish we had server browser so that I can connect to games with low ping.

Played one game and was 17-28
Played the next map and I am 9 - 49
The game is hopelessly broke.
There is NO consistency in the connection to the server.
One map to the next can be completely different.
It is a bad joke at this point. - JOGAGATYA3 years agoSeasoned Ace
I played last night a few rounds and it felt great. As good as the last Gen version on PS5. I don't know if I was lucky playing with friends, or if this will continue. The game is great when it plays good. Was there any server maintenance or server updates lately? Some maintenance in the background that we are not aware of? Net code update? I'll keep monitoring this because I like the game when it plays properly. Yesterday I didn't have any one bullet deaths or any deaths behind cover. All fights were fair yesterday amazingly.

I haven't played in a few weeks because this is just sooo bad for me.
I think Enders and Cadwoman have figured out what is going on with a lot of the hit reg issues. Apparently, there is a disconnect between the screen center and where the game is aiming due to recoil. This effect appears to be worse with some attachments and different weapons. This is groundbreaking stuff and should be #1 to #100 on DICE's priority list. Downgrade all other Jira priorities and fix this now. This is why your game is unplayable.
Check out these videos:

and for those not wanting to make their gaming experience worse, don't watch those aiming videos.
Now all I see is how off the aiming is in the game. It is almost like there is double recoil, on the gun and on the environment, both are completely random.
- cso77773 years agoSeasoned Ace@Adamonic Yeah, its a disgrace. How Dice can be so incompetent is fantastic.
They can make big tornadoes and all kind of weird skill/gadgets for specialists, but shooting is broken... - JOGAGATYA3 years agoSeasoned Ace
Lately I tried the 64 player version on the PS5 and I have to say it is much better than 128 player version. So I played against PC players, and I found that the game was surprisingly good and fair. I miss the big maps though. So I can't tell anymore what's the problem with the 128 player version. I'm not entirely sure it's the crossplay because it works ok on the 64 player version...so far...lately. I still have occasional Insta deaths behind cover on 128 player version, so I think the big version is just harder to play because there's too many people on the maps in certain areas at certain times. Also a little desync/hitreg issues because the network has to work twice as hard. As it stands, there are three versions of this game I can play, and they all feel different. The ps4/64, the PS5/64 and the PS5/128. I started to favour the PlayStation5 64 player version.

They messed up the shooting on an FPS hahahahaha

How do you guys find this issue after the 5.2 patch?
It SEEMS like it’s getting better in the recent weeks. I don’t experience too many instant deaths, bundled damage in a second, death behind cover issues lately.
The entire gameplay is just so fast. Especially feeling this on 128 player maps. All weapons fire at an insane rate. TTK and TTD is just too fast for my taste. Wish all soldiers could live for a longer time in average.
Would be nice to play like this: see a soldier, exchange bullets, both hide behind cover, little tactical movements, shoot again…take time.As it is now: we see each other and one of us is dead in a split second.
I would love to see soldier animations be more realistic in the next game. It would be nice if it would take time to go left and right with the soldier. You go right, need time to slow down and go the opposite way then accelerating.
Kind of like Prince of Persia 30 years ago (if you are old enough to know the game.) Basically slow down everything a bit. More realistic gameplay would be nice. (Sorry off topic at the end here) i've been playing more and more vs bots, because experience is far better. Playing against other players is really not fun when it feels like i'm shooting blanks, while I'm getting killed in a split of second. Something is really off here.
When i'm in PvP match, it feels like I'm always missing 1 or 2 frames. So I'm getting killed in a heartbeat. Yet when i shoot at enemy regardless if point blank or far. It's seems like I need ages and half a magazine to kill anyone.
Although technically speaking, battlebit is far less taxing on system overall. On a full server with ~255 players including me, I did not had this type of issue.

Yknow I combed through this strange fever dream of a topic and I think its lunacy to want to tether the recoil to the center of the screen. The whole idea of animations is to break the illusion that the gun is attached to the center of your face. This discription of mushy that I hear thrown around doesnt track for me either. KB/M here, I play various other shooters as well. AAA and indie.
The only complaint on this topic that hold weight is that the muzzle return to center when firing is inconsistant in some guns but in the video that revived the topic showed this was between the Avancys LMG and the PP2000 SMG. Thats about as contrasting as you can get in weapon handling and a terrible comparison.
Because the drift is affected by attachments in predictable ways as per the descriptions it may even be intentional balance per weapon design. The visual center drift not being present on controller use seems logical too. It would be more difficult to correct off center with a joystick, compared to mouse. DICE did say they were adjusting controller aim. My girlfriend plays exclusively with a controller and has said the aiming has improved for her a few times as the patches rolled out.
Most importantly, the bullets go where your sight is aiming. All of these people use screen space third party reticles to make these analysis and thats not representative of the in game experience. You cant see a generic crosshair when you ads normally, you use the sights.
As always, the devs are the only people who can say whether the recoil drift is intentional game design and balancing like Insurgency or Squad or every other tactical sim shooter. Or if they intended for a quake, unreal tournament fixed cam. Personally? I assume the former considering Battlefield is an arcade sim on large maps, and not an arena shooter.
DICE plz. Speak up on this. Help us understand the intent here. Is it balance? Is it bug? Somebody ask someone who actually worked on it or something. Is there documentation of this in a patch note?
*boris voice* "Put this topic to bed please."

24 shots, 10 client hits, 9 server hits. I could not understand why it was taking me 10+ rounds to kill anyone. I know I missed a few shots (weapon just randomly jerked right - not normal recoil), but slowing this replay down and counting, I only missed 5-6 shots, but the game thinks I missed 15! It is like shooting an invisible wall. The 2nd player would not die. This is every encounter, yet, the enemy kills me with 4-5 bullets, all hits, fastest TTK possible. How can the disparity be this bad? If I go to Portal and test with AI, everything works fine. They are clearly doing more than just netcode with multiplayer.

@Adamonic I wonder if consoles have less spread than PC.

Good question, would aim assist negate some of the spread anyway?
- Alethes3 years agoSeasoned Ace@OskooI_007 with crossplay off (and I'm on console) I also get frameshot sometimes. So this discrepancy can also happen between consoles.

Please see the attachment to see how lopsided the final scores are in BF 2042. This has been going on for 3 to 5 month now. This us proof that the game is broken and the TTK/TTD is messed up. EA, why are you nit answering these consumers, the people who paid you for this game? [Edited]

Last game of the night and complete server desync at the end.
Full clip into people and they run off around a corner. 10 plus people that should have been easy kills and most shots are not registering.
Shotgun on a static enemy, zero damage, they turn around and kill me.
Why aren't we seeing ANYTHING from DICE on this issue?
It is a game breaking issue that has been worse in this BF than any other.
DICE if you want to convince us you are listening you HAVE to address this issue. - Alethes3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ai-Fluffy today I was one-shot killed, twice. I thought "fair enough, shotgun, no prob." It was an ACW-R, same guy.
Something is definitely off lately. - Ai-Fluffy3 years agoSeasoned Ace
That is what quite a few of us are getting.
The issue is not every one is having this problem.
Guy I game with was burst firing killing one after another.
With the connection I had he wasn't firing enough bullets to kill people.
DICE are making a show of "listening to the community"
SO where are they ?
No where, as they have our money. - 5StarRevives3 years agoRising Traveler
This game is like a totally different animal after the latest patch. It's playable, but it definitely isn't fun. Consoles make all the PC players think their systems are broken.
- Mackstan713 years agoSeasoned Ace@CH34TC0D3
As a PC player i personal think that it isn't a console thing, it's a broken/unfinished game issue...broken to a point that it's unfixable. Other more finished and newer games works perfect, so i know it's not my system. To be honest...i personaly don't know how the game is now as DICE/EA made me quit playing this game months ago. But hearing others...it's still a mess. - 5StarRevives3 years agoRising Traveler
What I mean is the cross-platform-with-45hz-tick rate-server thing with console players and PCs doesn't work. This particular issue is a console thing. I have never seen this with a PC player.
- 5StarRevives3 years agoRising Traveler
And this clip from a buddy of mine. These things are jacked up. DICE, pls/

Always in most cases these gunfights you lose with console players. They don't have a crazy movement like PC players. They moving like POD-BOT from Counter-Strike 1.3/1.4 but allways hiting you to head when you jumping, sliding or doing any gymnastic movement in game (silent aimbot on consoles is cool I know).
.. but question is why console players not receiving any hitmarks or damage many times.
It is next advantage for console players like aim assist aka silent aimbot or less recoil?
