Thoughts on the 'Feedback Loop'

I don't want the risk of being called 'toxic', so I will refrain from saying that I consider this current 'feedback loop' to be a joke. Well, maybe it's not even that. So I rather say that I am very disappointed with that and I am sure I am not alone (if someone else feels the same -> there is the 'Me too' button down below)

Considering how long it took to set this up, I would have expected MUCH more substantial than ONE post on ONE topic and then silence again (it is just a few days, so maybe we get a reply with details they gathered and passing on and not just a vague: 'we hear you' kind of response).

Given, this one post was long and detailed, but it contained nothing that could not have been posted by someone reading these forums a LONG TIME ago!

Especially the fact that you do it the salami way, one topic at a time, clearly shows to us that you deliberately intend to draw this out as long as possible. Trying to stall us.

Unless there is just a skeleton crew working on this game that cannot focus on more than one topic at a time (instead of multiple studios as EA promised at least the investors), there is virtually ZERO plausible reason to not gather feedback on multiple topics at once. ZERO! ( @Straatford87 : please tell us if I am wrong in that assessment and you actually have a valid reason not to gather feedback on more than one topic -- if we don't get a good reason why it's just one topic then we know that there is virtually nobody working on BF2042 anymore )

It is hard to believe that I am the only one in possession of the 'secret knowledge' that map design is done by COMPLETELY DIFFERENT developers than the ones working at the engine or the game logic (unless we are talking about a lone indie developer, working on her own).

So, we have NO FEEDBACK LOOP for any of the other teamS. What keeps you from gathering feedback on more than just map design (a topic for which your post showed that you are pretty much aware what is wrong and needs to be changed)?

There are many things you know the community wants, the game NEEDS and that could be changed easily. Just one thing would be the server browser and proper map rotations instead of this match making you have now. You current implementation is ripping apart players of the same group that finally were able to join the same server. This would prevent us from having to cancel match making time and time again until a map that is not as bad and unplayable Hourglass comes up. This feature is already in the game (Portal has it), you know it is wanted/needed, but there is zero effort to bring that. I could set this up in Portal (configure CQ/AoW on BF2042 maps with default settings and all maps in the rotation -- it would take ME! 10 minutes to set this up -- and make this an official option in the menu). It will not replace the needed core feature of proper squad management, but it would be no effort at all to set this up now. With the existing tech!

I will stop here as longer posts are not read anyway. But I guess I said what I -- and most likely many others -- think of your attempt at rebranding the process of 'stalling the community' as 'feedback loop' -- the same way you did when you renamed core features 'legacy features'.
