Following a recent Windows update, an error has emerged preventing the launch of Battlefield 2042. Prior to the update, the game functioned without issue. Troubleshooting steps, including the complete reinstallation of both the NVIDIA drivers and Battlefield 2042, have not resolved the problem.
same issues, with variants:
1. dx error device removed or dx error out of memory (comes across quite often)
2. starting screen stucked on splash screen
3. starting screen stucked and black screen
I have the same problem. 2 days ago everything worked well. But yestoday and today the game crashing every time.
I already wanted to reinstall windows lol
But understand the problem is partly widespread!

Same, I somehow i got it to run but i have to disconnect my monitor, delete game's settings folder, reinstall graphics driver, restart my pc and numerous other things each time(which i dont know which of them helps) i want to open the game, and they sometimes don't work eighter. I sometimes don't get an error but the game just doesn't start just a black window appears.
Friends, it may sound ridiculous, but if you are using Opera GX, can you try deleting it and opening the game again?

This Directx error maybe about auto-HDR Windows setting.
My setup: main monitor in laptop with HDR and second via HDMI old TN (without HDR support):
1. two monitors pluged -- directx error
2. only HDR monitor -- workting well.
3. two monitors and disabled HDR in main monitor -- workting well.
