I have the same problem. It’s insane that you pay for a game that keeps crashing and have to spend half a day trying to fix it... EA should give the money back.

Same issue. Crashed after playing a round of conquest 64 and after game ended BF2042 closed itself completely. event viewer had same error message as OP. I built 3 new PC's and although my wife's seems to work ok, she only plays once a week. The stepfathers pc does the crash that closes the BF2042 game altogether once in a while but mine does it a lot. I have been fighting these problems for over a month now and I also have an RTX 5070 so I get the extra problems of stutters and freezes for a few seconds all the time. The other 2 pc's have RTX3060's and seem ok in that regard. My pc also has the issue with KB5063878 when it installs the update and I restart the pc, it says "oops, something didn't go as planned..." and says not to worry as it tries to undo the update and after 3 or 4 restarts I get my login screen but neither my keyboard or mouse works so I can't even log back in. So I do yet another system restore and hack the Windows updates to disable them for 1 year or it tries to install the update again and again. So I am likely fighting either EA, or Microsoft, or Nvidia and it may end up just one of them is the underlying problem and it's likely Microsoft. Not a happy camper and I have been building pc's for my whole life. It's crazy!
