(PC) My settings keep getting reset + Tutorial every time

This happens no matter what, I tried all of the possible fixes I found.

Including Windows Defender settings, running the game as an admin, checking the settings file to read-only or changing the tutorial value to 1.

I also tried launching the game from both EA Play and Origin, same result. None of it worked, I have to keep doing my settings all over again every time. My weapons customizations and skins stay the same; no changes from that end.

Someone from the team please tell this is being addressed in the upcoming patch, it is really annoying and makes me want to avoid starting the game ☹️

Thank you

  • @Sulaiman-178 I am having the same issue. If you got the solution, please let me know. I have been trying to solve this problem the entire day
  • Thank you

I played it many times, it randomly happens I don't know what's triggering it.

I really hope they address this in their next update.

For now I just copied my settings.txt file and I'll just paste it in case it happens again, hopefully it'll be work.

  • Happened again today unfortunately. Yesterday it didn't and it loaded the game normally.

This is really frustrating, I thought it was fixed with the latest update but apparently not.

Why is this thread been marked as solved when I didn't choose a solution and in reality it really isn't solved? This is odd.

    Greetings

No, neither is installed on my system. It also happens only with Battlefield 2042. Ran Battlefield V and Battlefield 4 and they both ran fine and never asked me for a calibration or showed any intros or tutorials. Not once.

I believe there's a conflict with the cloud saved data it gets overwritten or something on Battlefield 2024 since this issue appears on both clients (Origin & EA App) as mentioned.

Please look into this as it has been reported many times on here and on the game's subreddit as well.

Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you soon

  • This started happening to me, i remembered i had a backup of my profsave and profsave_profile files.

I cancelled the tutorial. Copy and replaced my profsave files. When i went back into the game it started normally.

So you could try keeping a separate copy of the profsave files that has your desired settings saved, copy and replace it to see if it works because as soon as the tutorial starts it overwrites the current profsaves.

@CRV3N @Sulaiman-178 from what we are seeing is that google drive or One drive, Firewall, Anti-virus and Permission issues with windows blocking 2042 from saving in the document folder.

    /Atic
  • @EA_Atic Please pardon me but those seems like assumptions that draws away from the main issue; which is within the game itself since this happens only with Battlefield 2042, no other game suffers from this including other Battlefield games.

Please escalate it to solve it as it honestly ruins the whole experience and I'm starting to avoid launching the game in fear of being greeted like it is my first time playing it and having to set everything up again and again.

    Thank you

Just happened to me AGAIN today... and no, the game did NOT crash before that.

It just happens randomly and probably is some bug when syncing local game data with server.

I use the new "EA Desktop" app to launch the game but I guess it does not matter since most people use Origin and still have this problem.

Funny thing is, BFV writes the same files to Documents folder and NEVER EVER reset its settings so NO IT IS AGAIN YET ANOTHER ANNOYING 2042 BUG DICE!!!
