Answers to why crossplay wont change

If you know me you know i operate across multiple platforms in regards of feedback and getting answers. Well... ive found the core answer to why the devs wont add crossplay (consoles only) and refusal to give pc the option to turn it off...

The reason is because of their worry with "splitting the playercount or base"... they believe if consoles only Crossplay was added it'll **bleep** servers for pc.... putting pc in 95% bot lobbies or have trouble with matchmaking the same way it does when you turn Crossplay off on xbox or PS... we have about 100k players as a whole on a good day but mostly averaging to 75k or lower(all platforms)

My thing is pc makes up 45% of the playerbase.... the other 55% is consoles(Playstation makes up nearly 30% out of the consoles) I get it.... it'll literally split the player base in half.... but either way it goes there's enough players for pc to play with pc only vice versa  for consoles.

Maybe the player count will even increase because many consoles players quit because you either play with pc with Crossplay on or play with bots with Crossplay off... many pc players quit due to not being able to turn Crossplay off playing with the majority of console players every match...

SOLUTION

1.Give pc the option to turn Crossplay off.....

2. Remove xbox only and Playstation only Crossplay options and combine the consoles(consoles only) . This will leave only 3 Crossplay options rather than 4(PS only, Xbox only, Pc only, Full Crossplay) having those 4 will drastically split the playercount.  But having only 3(Full, consoles only, pc only) will not break the player count

Thanks

  • 100% agree crossplay is the death of mutiplayer gaming. Everyone gave up on call of duty for it sick of cheaters nobody with half a braincell plays anymore. Bf6 very similar people are tired of pc cheaters. Choice is always the best option you could trial it for a month see what happens.

I'd also want the option to turn crossplay off entirely. I'm happy playing with bots if that's what it'd mean. Other than that, I agree that this proposal sounds like it would be better than what we currently have overall.

Errrr, duh? I mean sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but it’s always been clear that’s the reason, I’m just surprised someone thinks they’ve discovered the answer it’s now.

And to be clear, it’s not an unwarranted worry. Divide the number of PC players by regions, them by modes, and the player base can be really shaky during some parts of the day. In fact, I’m already seeing issues whenever the new time-limited mode is popular: when Cairo Bazaar came out, I did not care much for the map, but it was really hard to get a regular game of Conquest or Escalation starting outside of the weekend.

I personally would much rather have input-based matchmaking, but I think that train is gone, the current player base is too low for that to be viable.

AlphiB I dont care about rather you feel like you're being rude or not im far from sensitive and this is the internet.... Many people and I mean allot didnt Know why this was being rejected ... I literally got it confirmed by someone I can't say.... but not everyone is sitting around looking at a playercount buddy... I disagree  with you this is possible and a must!

  • I'm also a strong supporter of giving PC players the option to disable crossplay.
Another major issue is the lack of a server browser. Right now, after every match, players are redistributed into different servers or lobbies.

Let me give an example from my own experience. In TDM (8v8, so 16 players), once the match ends, almost everyone from my lobby gets moved to different servers. It's rare to see even one or two players from the previous match remain in the same lobby. In my opinion, this is where the core of the problem begins.

This matchmaking system and the constant redistribution of players make it much harder to keep lobbies full. As a result, the empty slots have to be filled with bots.

The developers definitely need to address this and let players decide whether they want to leave a lobby or stay. I believe that alone would solve several of the current issues.
