Battle Royale airstrike circle inaccurate

I've noticed the air strike red area on the minimap is not very accurate to where the airstrike actually hits. The damage line extends way past the red circle.

And while I understand the red circle is more of a warning and not an exact area of damage, being quite far away from it in a tank but still getting one shot by a missile that goes way past the danger zone isn't a fun way to find this out.
