Sorry mate, sounds like a skill issue, Snipers were always one shot to the head only, except on BF1 and now Bf6 sweet spot mechanic. SMGs are strong at their range, if you know, you hit your shots... A lot of people are using SMGs and liking it, I don't like it myself, but it's clearly good.
Verdict:
Skill issue and if you don't like the game, just don't play it, not every single Battlefield is the same, this one is not for your and that's it, sucks to suck
