Battlefield 6 Feedback – From a Long-Time Battlefield Player
Hello EA/DICE team,
I want to share some honest feedback about Battlefield 6. I have been playing Battlefield since around 2011–2013, especially Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, so I have experienced many different class, weapon, gadget, vehicle, and map systems throughout the series.
My approximate playtime in the Battlefield series is:
- Battlefield 3: 358.7 hours
- Battlefield 4: 888 hours
- Battlefield Hardline: 250 hours
- Battlefield 1: 255 hours
- Battlefield V: 380 hours
- Battlefield 2042: 500 hours
- Battlefield 6: 378 hours
I have played more than 3,000 hours across these Battlefield games, so I want to give my honest opinion based on my experience with the series.
In my opinion, Battlefield 6 currently has some problems with the class system, weapons, gadgets, grenades, vehicles, helicopters, and map design.
1. Class Weapons
One of the biggest things I noticed is that some Assault weapons are available to other classes, but those classes don't really use them.
I think the weapon system would be much better if every class had a stronger identity:
- Assault → Assault weapons
- Engineer → Engineer weapons
- Support → Support weapons
- Recon/Sniper → Sniper weapons
Each class should have its own original weapons.
At the same time, I think some weapons should be available to all classes as movable/general-purpose weapons, such as:
- Carbines
- DMRs
- Shotguns
This would give players more freedom while keeping the main weapons connected to each class.
I would also like to see new weapon categories, such as a Heavy Sniper and Anti-Materiel Rifle specifically for Recon/Sniper.
2. Class Gadgets and Roles
I think the classes need more unique gadgets and stronger identities.
Assault
For Assault, I would like to see:
- Sabotage Bomb
- Heavy Bomb
- Medic option
- Defibrillator
- C4
- More offensive gadgets for attacking objectives and vehicles
Assault should feel like the main offensive class, while also having the option to help revive teammates.
Recon / Sniper
The Spawn Beacon should be removed from Assault and returned to the Sniper/Recon class.
Recon should also have:
- Spawn Beacon
- C4
- Heavy Sniper
- Anti-Materiel Rifle
- Attack Drone
- More reconnaissance gadgets
I think this would give Recon more interesting ways to support the team instead of only focusing on long-range shooting.
Engineer
Engineer should have multiple-purpose equipment for different situations.
For example, Engineer should be able to prepare for both:
- Anti-Tank
- Anti-Air
This is important because Battlefield can be very fast, and Engineers need to be able to react to different vehicle situations during the same match.
Engineer should also have C4 as an option.
However, the equipment should still be balanced so Engineer doesn't become too powerful.
Support
Support should focus on helping the team, but it should also have offensive options.
I would like Support to have:
- Ammo Box
- C4
- UCAV
- Other support/utility gadgets
The UCAV would give Support a more active role in attacking enemy positions, while the Ammo Box keeps its main support identity. C4 would allow Support players to deal with vehicles and defensive positions, similar to the freedom available in Battlefield 4.
3. C4 for All Classes
I think C4 should be available to all classes at the same time.
Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon/Sniper should all have the option to equip C4.
This does not mean every player has to use it. It should simply be an available gadget choice for players who want to use it.
C4 has always been an important part of Battlefield's sandbox, and giving every class access to it would create more freedom and different playstyles.
4. Grenades
I would like Battlefield 6 to have a grenade system more similar to Battlefield 4, with more grenade options.
Some basic grenades should be available to all classes, such as:
- Smoke Grenade
- Flashbang
- Frag Grenade
- Incendiary/Molotov-type grenade
- More new grenade types
The idea is that basic grenades should not be unnecessarily locked to specific classes.
At the same time, specialized anti-tank equipment should remain mainly with Engineer.
This would give players more freedom and make infantry combat faster and more dynamic.
5. Drones
I would really like to see attack and utility drones return.
For example:
- SUAV-style drone
- UCAV-style attack drone
- Attack Drone for Recon/Sniper
- Support/utility drones
- Engineer drones
Battlefield 4 had interesting drone gameplay, and I think Battlefield 6 could bring those ideas back with better balancing.
6. C4 and Explosives
C4 should be available to all classes, including Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon.
I also think Assault should have explosive options such as the Sabotage Bomb and Heavy Bomb.
The goal isn't to remove class identity. Each class should still have its own specialized equipment and original weapons, while some gadgets such as C4 can be shared across all classes.
7. New Launchers and Heavy Weapons
I would like to see more interactive and powerful launchers similar to Battlefield 4.
For example, add a Heavy Launcher/Missile associated with a flag or specific map location.
Battlefield 4 had map-specific weapons and launchers that made controlling certain areas more interesting.
I think Battlefield 6 should bring back this type of gameplay.
8. New Vehicles
Please add more new vehicles.
For example, I would really like to see a new large support/transport vehicle capable of carrying around 9 players.
This could create new ways to attack objectives and move the entire squad/team together.
I would also like to see:
- New transport vehicles
- Heavy tanks
- New armored vehicles
- More vehicle reinforcements
Heavy tanks could also work as a limited reinforcement, making them powerful without allowing them to dominate the entire match.
9. Maps
The maps also need more variety.
I would love to see maps inspired by classic Battlefield maps such as:
- Operation Metro
- Operation Locker
- Propaganda
- Dragon's Teeth
- Other Battlefield 4-style urban/infantry maps
Battlefield needs maps specifically designed for intense infantry combat, with tight corridors, strong defensive positions, and constant frontline pressure.
At the same time, large combined-arms maps should continue to exist.
10. Battlefield 4-Style Map Features
I would also like to see more interactive map elements like the launchers from Battlefield 4.
For example, if there is a suitable location near a flag such as F or C, adding a launcher or another interactive battlefield object could create new strategies and make controlling that area more important.
These small details can make a Battlefield map feel much more alive.
11. More Destruction
Another important thing is destruction.
I would like Battlefield 6 to have more destruction, even if it is not always complete building destruction.
Small-scale destruction would already make a big difference:
- Walls
- Cover
- Small structures
- Defensive positions
- Doors
- Environmental objects
Battlefield's destruction is one of the things that makes the franchise special, so I would love to see more of it.
12. Helicopters
The helicopter system also needs attention.
Personally, I really liked the helicopter gameplay from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4.
If possible, I would like Battlefield 6 to have a helicopter system inspired by Battlefield 3/4, while also taking some improvements from Battlefield 2042.
The helicopters should feel skill-based, satisfying, and integrated into combined-arms gameplay.
13. Anti-Materiel and Recon Equipment
I would also like to see the Anti-Materiel Rifle return for Recon, similar to Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042.
Recon could also have limited IR/thermal equipment for certain situations.
This could be especially useful on night maps, while still being balanced so that night vision and thermal equipment don't completely remove the importance of darkness.
14. More Classic Weapons
I would love to see classic weapons return or have modern versions inspired by them.
For example:
- Glock 17, similar to Battlefield 4
- X-Bow, inspired by Battlefield 3
- Explosive X-Bow rounds
- Sensor X-Bow rounds
- Small/compact shotguns
- More Carbines
- More DMRs
- More unique sniper weapons
- Heavy Sniper
The X-Bow was especially interesting because it gave players different ammunition options and another way to play.
15. More Game Modes
I would also like to see a mode similar to Frontlines, but with more tanks and more action.
Imagine Frontlines with:
- More tanks
- More armored vehicles
- Large infantry pushes
- Heavy objective battles
- Constant frontline movement
That could create a very intense Battlefield experience.
16. More Battlefield 2042 Ideas
Battlefield 2042 had some interesting gadgets and systems that I think should not simply be forgotten.
For example, the deployable sensor system and other gadgets could be improved and brought into Battlefield 6.
I don't want Battlefield 6 to copy 2042, but I think some of its good ideas could be developed further.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I don't want Battlefield 6 to simply copy older Battlefield games.
I want Battlefield 6 to take the best ideas from Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, and Battlefield 2042, improve them, and create something new.
The main things I would like to see are:
Stronger class identity, class-specific weapons, more universal grenades, more gadgets, C4 for ALL classes, Spawn Beacon for Recon, Medic and Defibrillator for Assault, Ammo Box and UCAV for Support, Heavy Sniper and Anti-Materiel Rifle for Recon, attack drones, better Engineer anti-air/anti-tank options, Sabotage and Heavy Bombs for Assault, more launchers, new vehicles, more destruction, classic infantry-focused maps, more interactive maps, better helicopters, and new game modes.
I really want Battlefield 6 to succeed.
I've been playing Battlefield for many years, and I'm giving this feedback because I genuinely care about the series. I want Battlefield 6 to become a game that both longtime Battlefield players and new players can enjoy for many years.
Thank you for listening to the community and to longtime Battlefield players.
