BF6 Bring Back Bots

Good morning, the game has become unenjoyable since the removal of bots. I am an older man and it’s hard for me to keep up with some of the fast pace players today. I feel like I was ripped off out of $70, for a feature that helps me relax was taken away. I know there are people that do the “XP farms” and yes I do think it should be taken away, however, do not punish older people like me and many others, keep normal game modes like conquest and etc. If XP is such a problem with bots, then at least make it half XP for a bot kill and full XP for human kill. EA, please make this right and bring back bots so that older people like myself and the millions of other people that play this game can enjoy it.

UPDATE: Looks like our voices were heard. Causal breakaway is in the line up. 8v8 with bots.

  • Well to be fair EA is known for taking the joy out of all their games when people are enjoying it.

I agree 100%. We have been loyal fans of BF since before most of the current players were even old enough to game. Even Battlefield Vietnam had bots, which is where I learned how to fly choppers, while listening to "I fought the Law" on repeat. BF2042 was enjoyable because if the solo/coop mode. After a working day I could jump into the game, pick a game mode, pick a map, and start playing with bots. As my brother and our others friends came in from work they would join the party and just jump in. Good times without trying to find a game with actual players after long queue times, just to find that half the enemy team are sniping from all the hills and rooftops, so that you can't move without being headshot..... And half of our team are doing exactly the same, so only a fraction of the players are actually playing the objectives. How boring.

Then BF6 beta came out. And the trailers promised Portal games with progression. So we bought the game based on that promise. And lo and behold. Two weeks in out way of playing got tanked because of XP farms, which was only created because the grind for most of the unlockable gadgets and weapons were very sloggy on PVP games, even for veteran players. So now we can't create our own verified servers with bots, even without XP. And still there is no solo/coop option officially available.

I wish fervently that this is  temporary action while they find a solution that suits everyone. The fact is that most my colleagues won't buy a battlepass or xp boosters just to progress in irritating sloggy games against players who already farmed to unlock all the good stuff before the nerf, because we feel that we as ore casual players have once again been thrown to the side for streamers and influencers who can afford to spend multiple hours per day playing only BF6.

That being said, if I feel that I and others like me are being heard and recognized by DICE and our way of playing is restored, I would happily put in more money to buy a battle pass or other content, I really enjoy the game and I will support it further, but not if I no longer am allowed to play my way, as was promised in the pre-release trailer.

I'm really disappointed by this.  I'm old.  I'm simply not as fast, steady or accurate as I was when I was young.  I only bought BF6 because of bots.  I know portal still has bots, but with zero reward, no unlocks, just rotating the same 9 maps with the same 5-6 guns just isn't fun.

Keep making your voices heard. Apparently gamers in the EU are working on a lawsuit against EA for false advertising and they are 100% within their rights to do so.

Playing against bots was the main reason why I bought the game. I am also an older OG gamer who used to wreck noobs back in the day in multiplayer, however! Life happens, we get old, and we're not as sharp as we used to be. This is not a reason to punish us for our years of loyalty to a franchise and or take the fun out of a game because we were promised a way to progress without the stress.

EA is acting like we're ruining the game by playing against bots. Why advertise something to entice the casual player to buy your product then promptly pull a 180 because of their lack of oversight?

Also, why is it such a cardinal sin to want to enjoy a game (that we paid our hard earn money for) in a way that we want? Aren't games supposed to be fun? Please stop catering to only multiplayer. Let the casual player have some fun too.

how hard would it be to just let people host local servers with bots in all of the game modes? that's been a thing since Unreal Tournament 20+ years ago

  • Lol sorry but this is a new one to me. You're complaining that there isn't bots????

2042 was the only BF that had them, mainly only because the server population was too low to support the game without it

If you want an inferior product you can always go back to 2042

Every game they make doesn't have to have the same thing in it.

knuckl3dragger You're missing the point entirely. Some people like PvE and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Bots don't make a game inferior because they're in it. It allows the casual gamer who may be older / have families and commitments /  have disabilities / or just want to play a laid back version instead of fighting sweats - to have FUN, which these games should be. Just because you don't like bots doesn't mean that others have to dislike them too. If you like PvP / Multiplayer that's great! Have at it! Play the game the way you want to play it. The casual gamer should have that option to play the game they want as well. Especially since this was a selling point for many casual gamers (that we would get normal XP and weapon progression through Portal).

Instead, EA doubled back on that selling point after taking our money. Which is wrong.

This game is 95% tailored mainly towards PvP, which is great for those who enjoy that. PvE progression was advertised and was taken away only after EA' took our money and because of their failure of oversight. Don't punish the casual gamer because EA didn't do their jobs properly.

Look further back in the franshise. Than you will find out that the first two games had bots, you could host your own game as you like and switch sides, so that you and your friends could play against bots. Look it up, or talk to people who know.  Those where the days of 2000 until 2005.

You make a valid point and I understand what you're saying.

Unfortunately,  it does get tiresome seeing people complain about every little thing that doesn't go their way in video games.

I certainly don't believe they went back on their word because they have your money. There's alot of projects they're working on and they can't all be addressed at the same time

For example, I read a post from someone (no names) who was mad at EA cause they couldn't create an XP farm server.

Sometimes, the constant complaining gets too much. The reality is, they're never going to satisfy every single person who complains here.
