BF6 Feedback And Suggestions to make the game more fun.

Hello. To introduce myself...

Played Bf6 since launch. Most player BF before this was Battlefield 4. (When I lasted looked (years age) it was like over 1000 hours played.) Prefer playing breakthrough. I would usually play Recon, however because the recon beacon was moved to assault I have been switching between the 2. Prefer using Snipers and Lmgs, mainly because if used properly you won't need to reload after killing 2 -3 people. I can drive in game vehicles with competence, I can fly helicopters competence. (Not jets) Currently favorite weapon is the Mini Scout. (I appreciate the fact whoever deigned the weapon has a vendetta against DMR's and decided to make a better sniper rifle. I also have a vendetta against DMR'S. I HATE THEM.)

Here is the list.

PROMOTE GAUNTLET MORE!!! I do not know why Gauntlet has been so closely tied to the battle royal modes but it does the game mode a massive disservice. I personally do not like Battle Royals, so when I went into Gauntlet I was expecting a battle royal experience because of the marketing. What I got instead was a surprisingly fun game mode that has A LOT of potential, if advertised correctly and treated with respect. I mean I really don't want this to become the focus of the game mode, but you quite easily have a new Esport franchise on your hands if your cards are played correctly.

MAKE SMOKE GRENADES A UNIVERSALTHROWABLE ITEM. I understand why smoke grenades where given to supports. (Smoke to cover a revive) but if that is the only seen use for smoke grenades then I'd question whoever made this discission, if they have ever player Battlefield before. Why? Smoke grenades make even the most backwards maps playable. As hyperbolic as it sounds, they are the great equalizer for all infantry. Want to move to another building without dying, smoke the road then move , want to cross a field without getting sniped, throw smoke and move, do you want to attack an angle but cant because of cross fire, smoke the line of sight and use the smoke to make your play. Overall smoke grenades should be as universal as frag grenades.

VERTICALITY. Simply put most players don't not care if some decides to sit on top a building AS LONG AS THERE ARE WAYS TO DISLODGE THEM EFFECTIVLY.  How does this play out in game? Lets use Sobek City Breaththrough. Do players care that people can get on top of the building. No. What players do care about is the fact it takes half a match, 2 assaults, and a degree in platforming to get to the tops of the buildings. Mortars are nice deterrent however they are inaccurate and slow. (rightly so) If a fast respawning transport chopper was available no one would bat an eye lash however once again its not available. These areas of maps make certain maps a terrible experience for a lot of players and until they are made easily accessible for everyone they are going to become a big problem going forward.

I mean Dawnbreaker Conquests from Bf4 was not the best map but it was also was not the worst, and that was because access to the to of buildings was relatively easy. Also if your need of a more radical solution simply put stop limiting the height of the Assault Ladders against certain buildings. Will they potentially look stupid. Yes However I guarantee most player will be happy they can at least scale these buildings instead of just getting shot buy them. And if you want make things even easier, allows them to hold and shoot their pistol while climbing up, allowing for interesting interactions.

ASSULT AND RECON. PLEASE END THE EXPERIMENT. The suggestion is in the title but apparently this needs to be said aloud. Give the Spawn beacon back to Recon, rework the Spec Ops and  Frontliner specializations, with a focus on Assault and making Adrenaline worth using.  Why? Because they both feel horrible to play and are obscenely miss matched at the moment. I don't know who made the decision to change which class has the Spawn Beacon but its feels like they've no experience in the play styles these specializations dictate.

Spec Ops does not feel good to play because you have to literally run from one end of the map to the other hoping you don't get shot, and if you do get shot, you then have to start all over again. There is no satisfaction in getting behind the enemy as there is so little reward and way to much risk.

Frontliner on the other hand, seems to be the most miss matched specialization I have ever seen. Why in the world is the Spawn Beacon attached to a class that is literally designed to be in places the Beacon is useless. (I mean if the motion tracker wasn't a staple of Recon I would have said give that to Assault, give recon the Spawn Beacon and get ride of Adrenaline.) Frontliner should quite frankly be focusing on Adrenaline, as in every 1 or 2 kills the cooldown resets. Would this make Assault the most powerful medium to short range fighter? Yes. Though to be frank that's the point. Assault is the main infantry, Engineer are the Anti vehicle, Supports are supposed to keep everyone alive and with ammo and Recon ether out distances or is behind the main attack.  Overall at this point is seem like stubbornness is what is keeping these changes in place and I hope that changes soon.

Transport Helicopter. Simply put I would like to see it on more maps. Out side of that please look into giving to more upgrades and or at least making it bullet proof.  Why? All the other aircraft are powerful. It does take skill but they are powerful. The transport chopper literally requires a crew 5 to be even remotely strong and even then it can't fight mechanized units. Overall just keep and eye on it, the new armored jeep is strong yet only Anti infantry, it would be nice if the transport Heli could be the same.

  • I agree with you on Gauntlet. I didn't think I'd like it but it's a nice change of pace from the other modes.

And there needs to be more verticality in the maps along with making the maps larger.

Smoke grenades need to stay Support only. There's way too much smoke thrown as it is.

The respawn beacon is perfect on Assault. We already have enough recons camping. They don't need a spawn beacon to make it easier for them to camp.

You do realize that it's called a TRANSPORT chopper for a reason, right? It's not designed to be used offensively against other vehicles.

With all due do respect no there is not enough smoke as is. If your running into a lot of smoke, I almost guarantee you its a support player running the smoke launcher and smoke grenades because having both basically allows for the player to infinitely throw smoke with both items, if the support decides to stand next to their resupply pack. Overall making the game player for the support and the opposite team miserable. If the rate at which a player recovered smoke grenades was reduced this issues goes away. Blackwell, Firestorm and Mirak Valley (especially on breakthrough) would all feel significantly better to play if you could move across the map instead of having to basically stick to certain areas like islands, because attempting to leave them will basically get you killed, for the sin of attempting to move to another point.

As for the respawn beacon, also no. The respawn beacon is redundant on assault, as your ether getting picked up by your squad in the action, having the beacon destroyed because of some form of, explosive/anti-gadget tech and or most commonly and importantly getting revived by a support player. The beacon during the flow of mid to short range combat is literally useless, as there are significantly better options to dying, hoping the beacon lasts for you to respawn, then hoping when you respawn your not going to get camped by a stray grenade, or someone lurking, just out of sight of the spawn camera. I mean if the beacon acted like a better motion detector and showed the exact location of players around the beacon, to those spawning it would fix the camping issue, but not the fact revives in that domain of combat make the beacon useless.

As for "the fear of campers" all the current system does is ensure there are 2-3 players camping instead of 1. Instead of 1 player and the beacon, you get a squad instead, who are significantly harder to remove from camping spots. From experience, 1 sniper on the top of a building you cant and or can't easily reach is obnoxious, 2 however is oppressive because the other will usually kill you and 3 is a nightmare because you are not winning that fight. Campers are going to camp, its just a question of how many. And Ironically enough because the recon drone is a thing, (it can destroy gadgets) the respawn beacon is no where near as obnoxious as it used to be.

Last time I checked nether, BRADLY or to be more specific IFV were acronyms or synonyms for TRANSPORT. Yet last time I check they act as transports, that when nessieary can easily fight tanks. I mean the IFV literally has optional Ap rounds. Now I am not saying the Transport Heli needs Ap rounds however if you played Battlefront 2 you know how quickly any aircraft will melt, when half the lobby decides to just quickly point and shoot at a flying target, that it not bullet proof. Requesting the Transport Heli have grater survivability and or lethality, considering its current state is not a big ask.
