BF6 Feedback from a BF noob

I'm not a long time BF player and have only been playing COD for 6 months. The BF6 beta was pretty cool but here's some of my feedback/observations.

  • TTD is just to fast. Its just a meat grinder. Sure respawn and all that is good and quick but I want a gameplay you can lock in for longer.
  • Nerf the Engineer repair - Stop people riding on tanks and constant repairing. Maybe give a cooldown on repairs.
  • The small maps feel to small/tight. Run around a corner and there are 10 people ready to kill you. Again the TTD thing.
  • Be able to Edit loadouts once a game is complete and your waiting for the next one. To much deadtime waiting then you try and get it done in seconds while the next one loads.
  • More incentive for the Team to work together. Four man teams are great when they work. When they dont your on your own. 50% of the time people just went off and do their own thing. Sure we are all on the same "side" but there is a winning team so make it worth it.
  • Restrict weapons for operator types. Assault can have an an AR and pistol and shotty and grenade launcher!!!???? wtf?? How about two weapons only and a say 2 - 3 grenades. One grenade only is dumb.
  • Nerf the shotgun. One-shot shotties like in COD are stupid.
  • Reduced the all out chaos somehow. Yeah I get it its all out war but far out leave some room to have some sort of strategy.  People are just running all over the place most of the time. It needs more focus somehow.
  • Nerf the tank. That thing is just too powerful.
  • Reduce the sniper glint by more then half. People have mentioned this to death I know.
  • Maybe extra team points for rezzing people not on your own team.
  • Reduce the "who killed you" player outline. It stays too long and really once I'm dead I don't give a **bleep** cause you know, respawn.
  • Ping - how do I know?????

  • Tanks are supposed to be powerful , right now all vehicles need a lot of work to make them stronger.

I agree with the outline after dying.

As a long-time BF player, I will respond to some of the points above.

TTD was actually about right, if someone gets the jump on you or you're standing there at the top of the stairs they can put 6 bullets in you at 15-20 damage each and you're dead. This isn't halo where you have to dump a full mag and they run away to have their shield recharge.

Engineer repair was a bit strong, or at least when you had multiple engineers repairing a tank it was pretty much invincible unless you were able to take them out (which in some ways feels like it's the right way to do it). Fortunately there is limited ammunition on the vehicles so they do have to restock back at a point once in a while if they're alive for long enough.

It's been said that the beta maps were the smaller/cqc maps on purpose for better data and more player interaction versus folks complaining about running around for miles, to then be sniped, and have to respawn again (like one of the major early 2042 complaints regarding the maps).

100%, editing loadouts and going through the items you unlocked while waiting for the next round to start up would be a great use of the time.

There is some bonus points for helping your squad, and the bonus reward for having your squad get points (the icon on the far right that levels up based on squad rewards but resets if your squad is wiped).

Weapon restriction I'm not opposed to this, and has been discussed quite a bit. I believe the devs already have stated that the Assault class won't have two primary weapons as a choice when the full game launches [but I could be mistaken]

Shotgun is too powerful at medium range, agreed.

The chaos is part of battlefield's dna. You're going to have folks just running into a meat grinder, some people hanging back sniping, some in vehicles, and hopefully some folks in a squad working together to attack/defend different points to win the game. The best bet for this is to find a consistent group to play with as it greatly helps reduce the chaos when you're all communicating.

The tank is about as powerful as it should be. A soldier shouldn't live for a tank round or several heavy machine gun rounds. Engineers have 5 RPG rounds as well and do extra damage at different places on the tank (like the rear). I've seen tanks get obliterated by a couple of engineers that work together.

Sniper glint is noted by the devs to be reduced for launch.

I can agree with showing the highlight, but you're able to ping them and can use that as a call out for your squad over voice comms to alert that your body is in danger. I don't instant respawn after I die, especially when a medic can come and get me, there's nothing more frustrating as a medic to be getting to someone that just died and they give up for no reason when they could have been revived and saved a ticket.

Ping -- do you mean your millisecond time between you and the server, or hitting Q (or whatever button it is on console) to mark enemies, friendlies, items, and hold it for the comm wheel?

Thanks for the thoughful respones mate. Appricate it.
And thanks for some additoinal info. Yep Im noob to BF so the nuances just wont be as clear to me.

Agreed and probably just down to my lack of BF approach/experience.

Good point, although I never played Halo.

Great point in thinking about it I dont insta-revive either and happy to wait for a revive. Interestingly about 10% of people in my squad had comms. I ask everytime. Crickets. I ping when I see an enemy but not when I die so I learned something here. Its probably just my lack of experience but in most firefights but by the time Im dead everyone is well busy in a fight to react to that ping.

Yeah I should have been clearer. Ping to server.
Although now you mention it the comm wheel felt a bit cumersome and large. On PC at least it felt like it took too much focus to use.

    Thanks again.

No problem, happy to have a conversation!

Regarding Ping I believe it's in the options to enable it as visible on the scoreboard for when you hit Tab it will be there next to your name.

  • It's worth noting the ttd and ttk were out of sync in the beta, it was taking the correct time to kill someone but people were recieving several hits all in one go making it feel like they got insta killed.

  • Not a fan of the weapon sling. I would bring back the Assault class from BF3/BF4, which was the medic class, and scrap the extra weapon and the stim. That means you have health, grenade launchers, and defibs. This frees up support to having something like the limpet from BF1, giving it much needed AV role, and also getting greater use out of the LMG / shield.

I think repairs should be capped at 3 engineers. It is ridiculous to see so many players all camped behind tanks, and largely makes tank gameplay lame and boring.
