BF6 forgot what made Battlefield...Battlefield
The main reason it lost a huge portion of its player base is because the developers treated a full-price $70 AAA game like a free-to-play title.
- The moment you boot up the game, you get bombarded with ads pushing skin bundles and the Battle Pass.
- Core class gadgets are locked behind tedious, time-consuming challenges, rather than being available by default.
- Most of the maps are tiny — you just run and gun, barely any different from Call of Duty. Maybe only one or two maps actually feel like they support full-scale combined-arms gameplay.
- Updates are drip-fed, and issues that have been complained about for months still haven’t been fixed.
- There’s no option to host dedicated servers. If your group has more than four people, someone is basically guaranteed to get left out.
- They don’t even allow players from the same match to stay together for the next matchmaking round. Imagine finishing an intense 32v32 match, having a great time, and then the game kicks you into a completely new server full of randoms or bots.
- Oh, and don't forget Portal. Developers didn't commit to what they had promised. They literally destroy it. Portal in 2042 is better than this.
