Bought Battlefield Coins from Best Buy, didn't get them.

So earlier this week I bought $20 worth of Battlefield coins from Best Buy because I had a $10 reward certificate that was about to expire. Figured I’d basically be getting the new 323 skin bundle for half off, so why not.

Best Buy emailed me the code pretty quick. I redeemed it right away through the EA site like I’ve done before for dogtags, skins, etc. Everything in the past has always shown up on my Steam copy of BF6 with no issues almost instantly.

It’s now been 48 hours and I still don’t have the coins.

EA support keeps telling me it’s a Best Buy issue. Best Buy support keeps telling me it’s an EA issue. Half the time I’m not even getting a real person, just some AI bot telling me to restart my PC or check my internet (especially ironic when I've worked in IT for over a decade).

I’m honestly just annoyed at this point because this is dragging out long enough that I’m probably gonna miss the new skin bundle entirely. Just wanted to give people a heads up: if you’re thinking about buying BF coins from Best Buy, don’t. The “savings” (if you have a certificate) aren’t worth the time you'll be spending in support hell getting the run-around from outsourced CS reps.

  • Spent days and hours speaking with EA help and they ended up telling me i need to contact Bestbuy

  • I used to work at best buy some years back and yeah usually the code system should just work especially as that parts automatic for online stuff. I would use rewards to get currency packs for Halo Infinite myself so ik how the whole song and dance works.

    If the code went through on EA and it didn't error out saying invalid code or such then it SHOULD be on EA's end just following the logic of it all.

    Same issue with Amazon, codes worked on EA.com. They showed redeemed in green. Still have not showed up, its been 6 days. I also have no response on my case after 3 days.

    It's been over a month with still no coins on my account. 

    EA tells me to go to Best Buy

    Best Buy says they can't do anything and I need to reach out to EA

    I go back to EA and tell them what Best Buy said. They provide no help and end the chat when I wasn't finished talking. 

    Best Buy then tells me to have my friend who purchased the code for me to reach out to EA (what? Why) 

    After I argue that I'm not doing that because it makes no sense, Best Buy tells me to have my friend contact Best Buy.

     

    At this point I just quit Battlefield altogether
