Bring Back Carrier Assault
One of the best modes ever made in the Battlefield series was Carrier Assault from Battlefield 4. It wasn’t just another conquest variant. It was an intense, multi-phase battle that perfectly captured what makes Battlefield special. With the developers reportedly working on full Naval Warfare for Battlefield 6, now would be the perfect time to bring this mode back.
Carrier Assault took everything great about Battlefield and blended it together. Teamwork, vehicles, strategy, and chaos. You’d start by fighting over island control points, then launch missiles to weaken the enemy’s carrier. Once it was damaged enough, the match switched gears into a full-on boarding assault inside the ship. Every phase felt different. Every class had a purpose. It wasn’t about who could rack up the most kills, but who could coordinate and adapt. You needed engineers repairing, assault players breaching, and pilots keeping the skies clear. It was the definition of combined arms warfare.
Battlefield has done tanks and jets better than almost any shooter, but naval combat has always been overlooked. Carrier Assault fixed that. It gave purpose to boats, jets, helicopters, and amphibious vehicles all at once. If Battlefield 6 is expanding Naval Warfare, then this mode would tie it all together. Imagine two carriers moving across a vast ocean, with squads launching hovercraft assaults, fighters battling overhead, and missile impacts lighting up the sea. It would finally make ships feel like part of the war, not just background scenery.
Right now, Battlefield 6 maps feel smaller and more contained than what fans expect. They play well, but they don’t always capture that massive, sandbox feeling older titles had. Carrier Assault would naturally change that. The mode needs space; open water, island strongholds, and air combat zones. By design, it would push the devs to make large-scale maps again. It would create room for vehicles to breathe, for squads to move strategically, and for the classic Battlefield chaos to return.
Every match of Carrier Assault felt like something out of a movie. You’d see jets screaming overhead, ships on fire, and squads breaching into the enemy carrier’s hull. The tension of fighting through tight corridors while explosions echoed outside was unforgettable. The best part is that none of it was scripted. It was all player-driven. Bringing this back with modern graphics, destruction, and weather effects would create some of the most cinematic moments Battlefield has ever had.
Carrier Assault wasn’t just another game mode. It was Battlefield at its best; large, chaotic, strategic, and unforgettable. With Naval Warfare already in development, this is the perfect time to bring it back. It would push the game to feature bigger maps, better teamwork, and more meaningful objectives. Battlefield 6 doesn’t need more gimmicks. It needs moments that feel epic again. Carrier Assault could make that happen.
