To whom it may concern,I was genuinely excited about Battlefield 6. The trailers, the gameplay previews—all of it looked amazing. But that excitement was instantly deflated when I realized there’s no support for Linux at all!I’m running Ubuntu LTS and have absolutely no interest in switching back to Windows just to play EA games. It’s frustrating, to say the least, that in 2025 we’re still dealing with such narrow platform support. Linux users are no longer a fringe group—we’re passionate, loyal, and growing. Ignoring us feels like a slap in the face.I won’t be buying Battlefield 6 unless Linux support is taken seriously. Simple as that. Went to install the beta and was met with this error. Clearly there's no support for Linux gamers and it's disappointing. I am posting in all the places I can think of to get the attention of the devs. Would love to check this upcoming game out, but looks like at this moment in time I'm SOL :(

I second this,I want to enjoy Battlefield 6, it looks like an impressive step in the right direction for Battlefield. I was excited to play the open Beta this and next weekend and probably buy the game at launch; however, EA has decided to not just ignore but blatantly slap Linux users in the face.Anti-Cheat does not need to have command and control access to people's system to prevent cheating. Easy Anti Cheat, in-game reporting, vote to kicks have worked fine for many games, (Counter-Strike 2, . I see no reason that EA needs to make an anti-consumer product like Battlefield 6.With the growing Linux playerbase on PC and on mobile platforms like the Steam Deck I hope that EA will turn around. Though likely with the recent change to Apex Legends I do not see this happening, and instead see a failing EA die slowly to producing more and more anti-consumer products.

I'm in the same boat, I have purchased every single Battlefield game released since the much loved BF3, sunk hundreds of hours into this franchise.But I just refuse to use Windows or run any kind of untrusted, random software with ring 0 privilege.Sad to see that many publishers are still using this approach, no game is worth it to compromise my computer and data.There has to be an other way of doing this, but it's not my job to figure it out.

No one is asking for native support, that's why WINE and Proton exist. It's kernel level anti-cheat that is the issue and companies like Easy Anti-Cheat have done amazing work for Linux. The development team do not need to do anything except implement a less invasive anti-cheat.

Came here to post of my disappointment of no Linux support. Heck even experimental steam deck/proton would have been nice, we aren't asking you to fully release a Linux build but at least give us the chance. I love the battlefield series but sadly I'll have to give this a pass as I am unwilling to reinstall windows onto my Linux PC and fiddle with secure boot just for one game

there's a lot of people here unfamiliar with Linux so let me clear some things up.
game developers do not have to put in any extra effort to support Linux. they don't need to port anything. Linux can run the vast majority of Windows games with no issues. the only problem nowadays is when anticheats specifically block Linux access. Easy Anti Cheat and BattlEye now fully support Linux, but some developers still choose not to enable it, even though it is as simple as ticking a box on their management page.
in the case of BF6, EA made their own kernel AC that is incompatible with Linux systems. if you think that's worth it to stop cheaters? sorry, but it doesn't **bleep**ing work. we know this because they updated BFV and BF1 with this AC (and simultaneously made games that previously worked on Linux completely unplayable), and they're still infested with cheaters. so yeah, there is zero justification for this game lacking Linux support.
