Enhancing Battlefield 6 with Platoon-Level Squad Merging

Dear Battlefield Development Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out as a passionate member of the Battlefield community with a feature suggestion that could significantly enrich the gameplay experience in Battlefield 6.

One of the standout aspects that has always set Battlefield apart from other large-scale shooters is the sheer scale of its warfare and the depth of its team-based strategy. In previous titles such as Battlefield 1, we had the ability to combine multiple squads into a larger platoon. This feature allowed for a more cohesive and organized form of team play, perfectly fitting the grand, large-scale battles that Battlefield is known for.

Reintroducing the ability to merge squads into a platoon in Battlefield 6 would bring back that classic Battlefield feel where players can form larger units. This not only enhances coordination but also differentiates Battlefield even further from games that limit you to smaller, isolated squads. Given that Battlefield servers often support up to 128 players, being able to link squads into a platoon provides a more structured chain of command and a more engaging tactical experience.

Imagine the possibilities: you maintain your four-person squad for tight-knit operations, but when the mission demands a larger coordinated effort—like holding or capturing a major objective—multiple squads can merge into a platoon. You could have a platoon leader who helps direct the overall strategy, and a color-coded system where teammates are blue, squadmates are green, and platoon mates are yellow, giving clear visual feedback on your team structure.

Moreover, introducing larger platoons would strengthen the sense of community and friendship within the game. It creates a bigger, more cohesive unit where players can build stronger bonds and look forward to playing together in a unified force. This sense of belonging and larger teamwork will make the Battlefield experience even more engaging and memorable for everyone involved.

In conclusion, bringing back platoon-level squad merging would not only enhance teamwork and strategic gameplay but also reinforce the unique identity that makes Battlefield stand out from its competitors. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I’m confident it would be a beloved addition by many in the community.

Best regards,

A loyal gamer since Battlefield 2
