Everything WORKING Almost

COPLIOT VERSION IN OTHER POSTS ----

So I have been playing with custom button configurations for years and I have found a configuration for battlefield 6 that is almost perfect, only a few tiny updates could make the thing absolute. The first part opens up your configuration options massively, I have recommended a few buttons to use but it is more the double or triple bindings we are paying attention to here. And if the character is operating something or changing his/her behaviour in game so the same buttons or binding can be used again not.

Example - commands when controlling a weapon vs commands when not controlling a weapon on the same bindings or buttons.

So in the shortest form... when you are not operating your weapon! (not zoomed in)

Left Stick Click is controlling: Sprint - Crouch (Toggle) & Crouch (Press) / Prone (Hold).

From a standing position when you go to sprint, the character goes into a crouch sprint action.

From a crouch position when you go to sprint, the character goes into a standing sprint action.

From a prone position when you go to sprint, the character goes into a crouch sprint action.

The up and down sprinting movement is smooth because you can click to bounce up and down or hold to go prone.  Right Stick Click (opposite form crouch) - is Slide, which works nicely with the standing sprinting position. A is controlling Jump (Press) / Quick Upgrade (HOLD), Parachute (in air) & Vault.

Vault doesn't seem to work on its own yet or when binding with jump but perhaps it will if we make it double tab, so a jumping vault...

Now... when you are operating your weapon!  (zoomed in)... the same buttons become available for something else. Because your character works differently when zoomed, sprinting cancels out until you stop looking through your scope.

Left Stick Click is still controlling: Crouch (Toggle) - Crouch (Press) / Prone (Hold). Which is effectively the ducking up and down motion while zoomed, or going prone while aimed in.

We cant use the same button to steady our scope because of the ducking motion. But we can now play with the opposite stick .....

.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Now the opposite stick (RS)... WHEN YOU ARE OPERATING YOUR WEAPON - This part doesn't work 100% yet but a tiny bit of programming could change that. I have 90% working.

1 Right Stick Click is controlling: Range Finder Zeroing if Zoomed (only with CERTAIN WEAPONS, RIGHT ? , that's c e r t a i n w e a p o n f u n c t i o n s, differences like steady sniper vs mounted LMG)

2 Right Stick Click is controlling: Steady Scope (which should ONLY be working with certain weapons like the sniper rifle, it works with the range finder on the same binding above), some refer to this as steady aim or breath in.

3 Right Stick Click is also controlling: Slide (only works when sprinting) - not when controlling a weapon (being zoomed in)

4 Right stick is controlling, Deploy/mount weapon.

Now the main confliction here, the 10% I could get working but have no access too is Mount (whilst zoomed in) vs Steady Aim (whilst zoomed in) - all on RS.

To Fix It, we need consider introducing Hold To Steady Aim VS Tap To Mount. The single hold to steady aim is the only one not working, because the function is missing, and tap to mount is missing. Both these functions should only work when zoomed in, meaning slide still works whilst running using the same button.

WHEN NOT USING THE WEAPON

Right stick is controlling Melee too - currently this works while double binding with sliding (which is what we have).... now if the game identifies when your close to an enemy (only when sliding) and when your not or if an enemy is directly in front of you or not... this stops you using your knife when you slide, unless there is actually a target or object there to go through.

Technically it is a five button binding, but you could call it four or three if you include steady aim and ranger finder as one. Or steady aim, range finder and mount as one. Come to think about it, the double bind range finder would also need to become a hold function for it to work with the hold stead aim suggestion... so then tap to mount whilst zoomed works.

That's another five button binding ! If they add 5 > Tap to mount whilst zoomed, Hold to steady aim

..........................................................................................................................................

Now say you know what AIM and FIRE is LT & RT, you bind that too, you now have full 100% manoeuvrability control and 90% weapon and grenade, reload, swap weapon control....

now you have a choice here, lets highlight the main remaining function first... the possibilities... I will put my setting at the top, but your preferred configuration might be something else

Note X, Y, B and the D-Pad has not been used yet at all.

 LB & RB

1st, LB - PING (off/on)  /    SWITCH SIGHTS.....           RB - GRENADE.... (fast grenade, giving you extra time to reload)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd option, LB - PING (off/on)  /   SWITCH SIGHTS...           RB - RELOAD......

You can do this but note you automatically reload already if you continue to fire with an empty mag.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I wont go through the rest of the basic functions, like swap weapon, reload or grenade on Y, X ,or B, its depending on what you did with LB & RB..... I recommend using - Cycle Primary / Armour (hold), on Y or something simliar y, x, b......  remember melee has become part of a five button binding too above at the start, on the RS so more than enough should be free.

I highly recommend not using the Reload binding but using the Reload (Toggle) / Interact Hold) instead. Above In option 2 I said use reload, but I meant reload (toggle) / Interact Hold). Its up to you.

If you are wondering why Ping is the same as Switch Sights its just quick and convenient.. LT is aim too so LB make sense for switch sights, since its like zoom, its all weapon controls.

If Ping was a hold down and hover over target function instead of tapping, it would double bind with tap switch sights perfectly.

If you hold LB even longer or for the same time when the ping target isn't present, the same button function Hold LB could summon the command wheel to appear.  Instead of Holding to Ping

Also depending if your zoomed in, and depending if your hovering over a target.

In short Tap LB must be switch sights - Hold over a target becomes Ping Target -  Holding brings up the wheel.....

IF DONE CORRECT IT MAKES PINGING TARGETS, SWITCHING SIGHTS & THE COMMAND WHEEL A TRIPLE BINDING, instead of a double like I said just earlier above.

.........................................................................................................................................................................................

Now, get you gadgets on your de-pad.......

LEFT - RIGHT - DEPAD - TAP

gadget one, left

gadget two / weapon inspect (hold), right

UP - DOWN - DEPAD - TAP

Squad progression / class gadget (press) / NVG night vision googles (hold), up

Toggle laser and/or Flashlight if Not Zoomed, down

......................................................................................................................................................................................

UP - DOWN - DEPAD - HOLD (not prograamed to hold yet), mine is still on tap but i dont think i need it. I suggest.... hold functions.. this is what i got...

FIRE MODE / ZEROING / RANGE FINDER, down (should be hold not tap)

nothing for hold up - no wait NVG is on hold up already.

left - right - depad - hold, doesn't exist

nothing binding for hold left or right

...........................................................................................................................................................................................

Last secrets...... I have got all that working above but I cant get hold LB & RB to launch an airstrike to work yet, but I have not played battle royal a lot so i might just be doing it wrong..... in theory its the only two button command so it should work... i'll try turning the insertion camera off, whatever that is... Its on RB on mine.... and my grenades work with RB... but holding both should cancel out everything else right?

Anyway, I know hold a, x, y, b is still available if they where to change it but its not programmed like that right now...

Fire Mode - Same as Fire

Sometimes you want it, sometimes you don't, can makes weapon control insane, helps precision, but lowers fire rate. You might think it is OP, but it really depends what weapon you use with it, can be good or bad, depending on the weapon so some will say yes and some will say no, just make weapon designs much more flexible.

................................................................

Last tiny and untested forgotten but maybe working or not bits to review

cycle gadget.... same as reload / interact (hold)

pass leadership / formation parachute activation B, you might want something else, or not

Insertion Deploy (press) / Scatter (Hold) A, you might want something else, or not

When I was talking about melee above... I was on about Melee / Melee Takedown / Switch To Melee (hold)

change seat A, vehicle seat 1    B

....................................................

Tuning.... for mounting to work well instead of just sometimes working and for good aiming, make sure the dead zones on each stick are not causing drift.....

i'll let you handle zoom sensitivities and the type of scopes you preferred....

I never use a secondary basic sight with a variable scope..... its weird, don't think it works and its not necessary anyway.  Its the only thing that conflicts with toggle scope and switch sights, having both of those. Your better with a none variable scope and a basic side sight...

You might want to test your trigger threshold too

GOOD LUCK, FEEL FREE TO UPDATE, POINT ANY ERRORS OUT OR ASK FOR HELP !
