Gunplay/weapon/class balance issues and other suggestions
In no particular order:
- Too much ADS sway and aim being tied to weapon sights rather than screen center makes gunplay feel so inconsistent. Hipfiring feels more consistent and more fun because at least aim is tied to screen center while hipfiring. Gunfights feels random and not satisfying. At least give us an option to tie point of aim to screen center while ADS.
- Support crates are unreliable unless you are a support player yourself, takes too much time to resupply 1 grenade, 1 rocket and 1 mine and recharge cancels if you step out 1 centimeter away from it's radius or support player who placed it decides to use crate again. Would be better if supply crates worked like in 2042. You resupply when you touch their radius and get a timer for when you can resupply again.
- Assault feels useless, placebopen is nowhere near as good as medpen and currently support is a better assault due to infinite self heal, assault needs to be tip of the spear yet no reason to use assault when support can do it's job better. Tip of the spear receives too much chip damage in the frontlines yet assault lacks the self heal to handle that. Support however can do that. What assault needs is limited medpen similar to 2042 system, assault should spawn with 1 medpen and resupply on support crates to have a second medpen.
- Sniper sweet spot should be removed. Takes away the satisfaction of one shot headshots and maps like Liberation Peak will be filled with snipers one shotting people accidentally across the map. Recon perks are strong as they are.
- Not a fan of headshot ammo and they are so good compared to other ammo options too. Basically no reason to use any other ammo type when one of them is so good. Weapon types should have set headshot multipliers imo. Like for example 1.3x for SMGs, 1.6x for carbines, 1.7x for ARs, 2.1x for DMRs etc. Polymer is also too weak, strafe speed buff is unnoticeable.
- Visibility is awful and autospotting is aggressive. 90% of the time I'm shooting at diamonds rather than players. One thing 2042 did right was visibility especially after glowstick patch. Never had issues with visibility of 2042 and I sure wasn't shooting at diamonds.
- Breakthrough and Rush feels awful if you are defending. Basically mid sectors are undefendable. Makes them a waste of time to play until the last sector. No idea how BT became worse and worse in each entry after BFV.
- UI needs a revamp. Menus are awful. Not a fan of class logos either, they look so samey unless it's assault, hard to recognize them in a first glance.
- UI is also bad when you are a solo player, it's faster to search for another match with exiting back to main menu and starting to search again rather than mandatory waiting for squad option, which I don't think you can opt out of.
- Footsteps are non existent.
- TTK is fine but TTD is insane. Every death feels like a shotgun death due to TTD. Doesn't matter if it's a 4 BTK M433 or 8 BTK SGX.
- DMRs feels awful due to recoil and aim sway. Basically no reason to use them when any of the other automatic types does their job but better.
- Thermobaric shouldn't stun and immobilize players.
- Vehicle turrets shouldn't be able to 2 shot infantry players.
- Please remove shotguns DICE please.
