This was the defining era of what made Battlefield's hardcore mode gameplay so distinct, rewarding the player with the experience they've played. (BC2/Vietnam)-From the amazing class roles, like Recon (GOL-M95); calling mortar strikes, leading and judging each shot's drop from across the map accurately into the perfect killshot. The Medics healed their teammates, while the Engineers healed their teammates' vehicles and assisted them with enemy vehicles. Assaulters used under-barrel attachments, such as the M320 with 40mm HE/Smoke, to blast enemies from their cover or level entire houses. Provided a smoke screen to hide the squad mates' maneuvers or blind the opponent's aiming. Then you add the feature of taking someone's dog tags by a knife kill, you become obsessed with getting payback every time you're knifed. Between 1-4 shots to take someone out and a minimum HUD all created what was the perfect game. The list goes on and on, about the way Battlefield Hardcore mode is a necessity for a large number of veterans of Battlefield games from our past.
