HELICOPTER TOTALLY MADE USELESS

The attack helicopter is now completely useless, now that its gunners missiles have been removed. What kind of balancing is that, anyway? We have:

- Permanent laser marking by Soflams
- 100,000 people walking around with Stinger missiles 
- AA-Tank
- Stationary AA Turrets
- Jets that now also have air-to-air missiles
-And best of all: laser-guided missiles from the Maintank and Bradley, against which you can do absolutely NOTHING. This is why tanks are now even being abused as AA weapons and are camping in the home zone to farm aircraft with these exploit missiles.

Could you please explain to me what you're supposed to do with the attack helicopter now, other than getting shot down 10 seconds after takeoff? What were you thinking? Is this a joke?

The least that needs to be changed is that laser-guided weapon on the tanks, which aircraft (including jets) can't do anything against. Otherwise, you might as well just remove the jets and helicopters from the game altogether. Flying has become nothing but frustration.

    I was just starting to have a play with the helicopters in the game and I can say my experience is a sad one. I cant exactly claim false advertisement when the BF6 trailer had helicopters crashing left, right and center 😆.  

    But yeah I was actually looking for strategies to stay alive longer which involved sitting back at the base and NEVER LEAVING!

    The helicopters defences are limited as you said, the laser guided lock you cant shake without LOS which is difficult.

    I find most of the problems come from

    • Limited cover
    • The spawning bases are too close to each other which results in a lock shortly after take off. 
    • There's no mechanic to disrupt/delay lock when flying at low altitude like previous titles. 
    • Helicopter defensive abilities are limited as we had smoke in previous titles to block laser. 
    • Bases are too close together which results in half the enemy team targeting you at the same time. 

    I prefer using the transports helicopters myself but good luck doing single troop drop off and getting out alive. Most players load up the chopper and proceed with a suicide run.

    You forgot the rpg hit scan rockets which’s is even more effective then the aa rockets. 

    And technically you can use it now like all others us the UH60 for getting on top of buildings and do some happy camping

    there was absolutely no reason to nerf the heli. so many anti air are in the game and heli is anyways one shot from every rocket almost. Also my friend says the flying is now harder in conqest. escalation is the only mode remaining for helis, but you get now 25% less xp and as soon you get the heli the game already over.

    There’s nothing wrong with the helicopters, the real issue lies with the maps. They’re far too small and poorly designed. On most maps, the moment you lift off from your HQ, anyone anywhere can immediately lock on to you.

    Helicopters were never meant for low-altitude, close-quarters combat. They’re meant to be support vehicles. Unfortunately, the DICE developers made a major mistake. They looked at heat maps from previous games, noticed that most of the action clustered in small areas, and decided to shrink the map designs.

    They completely missed the point... those open spaces are what made air vehicles viable.
    After around seventy hours flying helicopters, I’ve concluded that the only real fix is to uninstall the game. Battlefield has lost its identity. It’s now catering to Call of Duty players. None of the current maps can properly support helicopter gameplay. The fact that every survival strategy for pilots now involves hugging the ground and hiding behind buildings says it all.

    Oil Fields is the worst offender. Anti-air units can sit safely in their own base and shoot you while you’re still in yours, barely ten meters off the ground. It’s obvious DICE’s playtesting focused solely on infantry, not combined arms.

    The best strategy at this point is to remove the attack helicopters from the game to atleast avoid the frustration.
    If we take into account what can one shot you

    a sniper
    a tank
    a jet
    a rpg
    aa
    land mines 

    Yes. Land mines. The map design is so utter trash, you have to fly so low you now get killed by land mines in a **bleep** helicopter and the devs think this is fine.

    Hence. Uninstall. But i had to say my peace before giving up on this trash piece of sht game.

    To be fair when the team doesn't use that exploit a good Apache pilot and gunner can do over 100+ kills a match without being challenged at all. I would say that AA should be buffed but the laser painting and guided shell on the IFV should not be able to target Helis or at least do reduced damage.

    What are you talking about? Do you want to be complete invincible? Airs have 10 sec flare. 10 sec. 10. And altitude advantage. Up, down, up, down and missiles are all gg.
