I got banned for defending myself
I am writing to express my disappointment with the decision to ban my EA account. I understand that EA has rules and community standards that players are expected to follow, and I respect the need for those standards.
However, I believe my account was banned after I was defending myself during an interaction with another player. While I acknowledge that some of my comments may not have been appropriate, I feel that the circumstances surrounding the situation were not fully considered.
I take responsibility for the way I handled the situation, and I am willing to make changes going forward. I will communicate respectfully, avoid inappropriate or hateful comments, and follow EA’s rules if I am given another opportunity.
Until this matter is reviewed fairly, I will be boycotting EA Sports products and encouraging others who feel similarly to reconsider supporting the company. This is not meant as a threat or harassment toward EA employees. It is simply my way of expressing my disappointment with how I believe my situation was handled.
I respectfully ask EA to review my ban, consider the full context of the situation, and give me an opportunity to regain access to my account. I have invested significant time and effort into EA’s games, and I would much rather resolve this issue and continue being a customer than walk away from the company.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my appeal.
Sincerely
Flatlineking954/ southflorida95
Hey Flatline954,
If you believe a ban was placed on your account incorrectly, please be sure to create an actual appeal with these steps. That will be sent to our Terms of Service team to review the situation, as we cannot review this for you via the forums.
While it's understandable that you'd want to respond similarly, please keep in mind that we don't take sides and try to determine who started something, the team would just be looking to see whether the Rules of Conduct were violated. Hindsight is 20/20 so this won't directly help the current situation, but if someone's being inappropriate, it's best to just report them first, then mute or ignore them. That will put them on our radar so we can take the appropriate actions without opening yourself up to those as well.
Do keep in mind along those lines that again, we're not taking sides here - just because your account may have been actioned doesn't mean theirs was not as well, if they had also violated the rules. I totally get the urge to react when someone else initiates something, but best case in that scenario you're just looking at both accounts getting actioned.
That said, again this isn't something we can review or change here on the forums, so once you've created an appeal please keep an eye on your case history here and the Terms of Service team will reach back out once they've had a chance to go back through the situation. Thanks!
