EA/Dice caused all this mess by removing locally hosted SOLO/COOP modes.
They forced players to use Portal servers in order to play solo/coop, and then the Portal server quota became permanently full.
There should be a LOCALLY HOSTED SOLO/COOP mode which doesn't mess with Portal server quotas. I still cannot comprehend why did they remove this, which is an essential feature which most multiplayer FPS games (included previous Battlefield titles) have included for the past two and a half decades.
BF2042 featured this, so it's a proven fact that the Frostbite engine supports locally hosted solo/coop modes. So they have no excuse for not including it.
