Recon's value in 6 really is gonna seem to be in proper reconnaissance which was just relatively limited in the beta as was all the other classes. We know there's the drone, and no doubt the beloved soflam will return. Big thing's just gonna be down to waiting to see the full inventory of tools and how THOSE actually pan out.

Honestly, I think the removal of the spawn beacon (and moving it to assault) will give less value to the recon and needs to be made up. But on the bright side, it [hypothetically] means not having the only spawn beacon on your squad be up in the mountains or something somewhere if they are just going to be sniping from a distance.
At least they have the TUGs and a spotter grenade [according to leaks] like in 2042.

A spawn beacon was by far the most useful gadget of the Recon class. You could easily say it's a class defining gadget, much like the availability of anti-vehicle/anti-air launchers on the Engineer class, or the supply bag on the Support class. The fact that the recon is expected to lose it at launch, means that it loses a significant aspect of its identity.
The gadget that's supposed to replace it, shouldn't just be a random utility. It should redefine the Recon class as we know it. It's something that needs to benefit the team and it should be useful enough for you to pick the class, just for that gadget. A decoy grenade, as good of an idea that it may be, isn't a good replacement for the spawn beacon.
Instead I'd suggest gadgets more along the lines of sabotage. Perhaps a gadget that'd allow you to find, jam or take control of the gadgets of the enemy. Perhaps a gadget that'd allow you to see electronical devices through walls, so you could more easily find the spawn beacons that the Assault class has hidden somewhere.

The gadget that one of the recon specialists had in 2042 was a jammer that would pop up fake spots on your map and I believe break/disable other enemy spotting devices, that would work in this particular case.

I think the Deploy Beacon (spawn) should remain with Recon.
Maybe give the Recon class a loitering a drone that can drop a grenade down onto enemies, either frag or incendiary. Frag deals 15% damage to tanks when striking top of turret and incendiary 20%.

I don't think Battlefield 2042 had such a gadget. What you're probably referring to is Blasco. Blasco does have the X6-Infiltration Device. It jams the minimap, prevents spotting, makes a sound as to make it harder to hear footsteps and spots gadgets. It did not break gadgets, but Blasco's passive trait did allow you to negate the effects of several gadgets.
Maybe you're talking about the DS-22 Sniper Decoy from Battlefield 2142, which created fake spots on the enemy minimap as well as hide you from scanning equipment within its radius.

Nope you're right, I was thinking of Blasco and her X6 device, was placing that as a 'gadget' but knowing that it was just for her and not a general 'gadget' per-say that was usable by any recon like Casper, etc.

Anobix Exactly what Recon needs. A device fakes spots or negates hostile spotting. Also, a device that disrupts enemy equipment in the close vicinity. U-TGS should have at least 20% higher spotting range on the device/minimap. Spotting range on U-TGS needs to be buffed as well.
Recons should always have Goggles that do not have a glare effect. Possibly Infra-Red or some other modes like a Predator lol (always equipped instead of U-TGS).
Sniper should have U-TGS, jammer, or radio as Disruption Beacon X6-Infiltration Device BF2042 or BF2142 DS-22 Sniper Decoy, Spotting Drone, C4, SOFLAM, and MORTAR!
MORTAR must be transferred from Support to Recon class. Support has ammo and healing... too much in my humble opinion and Recon is perfect for staying behind enemy lines.
I am not fond of having a Spawn Beacon with Recon. The Assault class or the Squad Leader should decide on the push! Not a person who usually stays way too behind the actual contact point, has zero planning and aggression skills (in the good meaning of that word). I agree that Spawn Beacon was a staple of Sniper/Recon Class, but most of the time I found that useless except for the Bazaar map in BF3.
Recon might get additional points for a Ranged headshot kill, similar to BF4 over 100m. Also, other bonuses.
Recon requires some changes to be relevant.
Adapting Blasco's beacon could be interesting. That said I think it would have to be an alternative to the TUGS so you dont get both passive spotting with blocking at the same time as that can lead to VERY overpowered feeling chokepoints in certain maps and with what we played in the beta that could potentially get somewhat oppressive.

Having recon have an Electronic Warfare weapon that scrambles drones or enemy hud would be awesome
