Some ideas for developers.
This topic is just some ideas that I think will be welcomed by players and developer, with hope of some player and developers seeing this and letting that sink in. I have some general ideas that will not hurt anyone or anything and only make some thing easier, but I also have some balancing propositions which maybe will be controversial so I mark them all so it is easier to read.
Neutral:
Deployment overview - So far Deployment map is great and new approach on how to enter vehicle is great. What I think is adding squad list like in bf2042 with ability on double clicking on person to deploy on them. Reason? When your teammate is directly on objective it is hard to click on him and not on the objective.
Settings - UI in game is little bad and clunky but that's technical issue and technical issue I will you to you. My ideas is add setting search like in DOTA 2, this will maybe thing easier for everyone because I had this moment where I though that this setting is not exist but it was just hidden in the maze.
I also have some setting that worth adding, additional bind for swapping fallen soldiers loadout. Don't get me this feature was in battlefield for a long time and there is nothing wrong with it however with addition of Drag and revive there is some problems. I like running support wit out defibrillator because I still can revive teammates with drag and revive, but it's so common to swap out loadout instead of grabbing person because loadout is dropping directly on fallen soldier body and because of that in the heat of battle you can fail just because you swaped equipment instead or reviving, and sometimes after changing equipment (your personal loadout now on ground) it's just disappear forcing you to play with different loadout for the rest of the life.
You can enter scope in vehicles by pressing RMB or C however the sensitivity in the scope is broken, adding separate sensitivity bars for 3rd person and 1st person view. (I think so, I didn't find an option for this if there is one) I think right now there is just one global sensitivity for all views, if you put sensitivity high then 3th person will go nuts with insane speed. If you put sensitivity low then 1st person will be super slow.
You can also add different sound setting for example main menu, end of match and capturing objective music. I really want to end of match music, but sometimes I want quiet menu, but you can't tweak it that way. Also there is not even setting for muting capturing music which is pretty loud.
HUD: Why my HUD changing according to my current language? It's good idea on paper but in my opinion it's misleading all the time. Don't remove, it just add setting to prevent HUD key hints language change.
Equpment - Make it so you can pick up shield. This MaxGuard 900 / Portable shield, Sometimes you place bad cover and you want to quickly remove it but now your only way of doing is just shoot it down which is bad way everyone understand it. And to make it balanced to we don't get any unforeseen consequence when you picking it up player fill hold it in hand and there is long delay how you arming it (state from empty handed to -> shield in hand long delay in here).
And generally make that all equipment can be picked up and added to your inventory after that
Helicopter repair - In bf2042 you could repair transport helicopter from inside as passenger but it was much slower then normal repair, this mechanic was very good and it was balanced and I glad it has returned to bf6?? I don't know if it is bug or not so I write it here, point is you can repair your helicopter as passenger but hitboxes are small and you con not reach helicopter hitbox with your repair tool half of the time. Add ability to repair helicopter as a passenger in a non buggy and approved way.
Not so neutral:
Bleeding out - Giving up on space bar can be tuned up for little longer holding, just about second and half. Reason? Sometimes you giving up right in front of medic, and it is psychological trick too. Being downed is also staying on battlefield (you can ping, look around, wait for teammates) so it is count as playing, this way you also shorten a waiting for new deployment because you technically in battlefield longer and less time in deployment overview.
Skins and squads - Different skins for NATO and PAX are super great idea but restricting skins to squads is bad. What if player what different voice for there skin, so I think it is only fair and good that for example phantom assault is only for NATO but bad it is only for Coyote squad and The Desert Locust or United Albion can't pick this skin. Why I'm proposing this nonsense in the first place?
We all know that little detail are responsible for atmosphere and how game feels to player. Then why in war 80% of soldiers in girls? (I want to keep this message professional without politics but I also want real life example) When I was in real war (as civilian) I was getting yelled by men soldier, I was escorted to different city and different country by men soldier, I engaged with 3 different country armies and all I saw was men soldiers. There is no angry message in this, honestly I was hoping that there will be female snipers because it is realistic or if woke meter is still to low some female doctors, yes in the back-lines of war in the base all the medics are girls but filed doctors are still men, but no we have Assault girls which is breaching enemy lines head first, Engineer girl who is carrying 50-80 kg of ammunition on her back. So weak men are all coward who isn't fighting this war? It is so unpleasant to hear just girl in the heat of war.
TLDR: Skins are free from squad restrictions. In real war 95% of people are men and it is not girls party.
Little bit of balancing but not major changes:
Drag and revive - Great idea, great work on implementing this one but. It feels very junky, transition from prone to crouch has strange delay, grabbing and releasing person also has some strange delay but it's technical and technical problems I will leave to you. My proposition is let players drag forward when reviving, to make it logical friendly you can give it slower speed compare to other directions.
Major game balancing:
Mines on engineer - I think that mines is single-handedly destroyed vehicles gameplay and balance.
In bf2042 engineer got only one slot for anti armor gadget: RPG, Javeline, C4, AT mines and robot. From the start you had launcher but first thing you unlocked was C4 and only after C4you unlocked mines which was far in progression also. So in bf2042 psychological event is in order: Getting familiar with launcher and C4 and only then unlocking mines. in bf6 you have two slots for Anti Armor gadgets, one for launchers and second is just for mines?!? (I know you can pick supply crate and robot but it's not the point here) You can't pick two launcher after bate (great change) but you still can pick two different kinds of mines? Launcher require skill and it feels rewarding to kill and fair to be killed by. C4 on the other hand is High Risk - High Reward weapon, from user it require to have crazy hard position in battle and for vehicle it fair to get killed by cuz driver understand that it is his fault to let enemy that close. As for Anti Tank mines it is very bad, It's require no skill, it's not rewarding to get kill, it's not fair to get killed by and you got 3 mines from the start with the ability to hold up to 6 and fast recharge rate. Gameplay on any kind of vehicle is some king of joke you must ride every centimeter with your eyes to the floor and waste time to destroy enemy mines, also you must get really close to see friendly mine indicator and sometimes you just waste time by shooting friendly one. I'm not against mines and traps in general it is good addition to control how carelessly you can ride but many balance ides let to mine get out of control. There is so many of them on map all the time, to the tanks and IFV most armored vehicle it deals 77% of Hp!! and light transport getting one shooted by single mine and it is all because engineer got this strong mine out of box with insanely high restock rate. My proposition, let engineer pick C4 out of box, mines will require to be unlocked and nerf them, damage, replenish rate, how much you can carry.
I know that this is maybe to much to change balance but this is problem is so huge and no one talks about is. My theory is also support fact that ground vehicles is weak because of mines and helicopters are doing fine because they is not affected by them (Jets is the other story they ins;t super weak but maybe they can be tweaked a little). At least let me speak out to community and developers, maybe we will get some kind of changes.
TLDR: Give engineer C4, nerf mines very hard. Vehicles will become stronger after this.
(sorry I only barely touched bf3 and bf4 played for little bf1 and bfV and most of my experience was in bf2042, look it's not my fault that bf3 and bf4 online is very low, setting of WW1 and WW2 is not kicked for me, but reason why I played bf2042 mainly is because of my friends, don't kick me for that! I treasure my friends opinions.)
Technical:
I want this post just ideas and propositions and not technical issue so I talk a little bit about that here.
Graphics setting - Graphics are great and optimization is alright, but still half of graphics setting doesn't do anything and half of really useful setting are missing and must be tweaked via console or cfg, high VRAM usage, low fps even on lowest setting. I think that my high end computer can give out more fps even on high or low setting (i know how to optimize your pc and games) all the kind of stuff like HAGS and overclocking are allready done but still result are acceptable and even good but it feels like this game can go further with optimization. I know you guys will not add potato setting and everyone understand that this is impossible to ask from you, but please please we community will add potato setting via config or mods< so that my friend with grandma laptop can play this good game, don't ban or discourage them from doing this. I'm sure there is many people like me that really want to play game with friend but they have super low end pc.
Conclusion:
This message is mainly for developers.
Guys you did amazing job, you really worked on this game for a good. I happy that this is first battlefield for a long time that is playable from the start it is amazing, but still there pretty big amount of technical and balancing problems, I guess it is in DNA of all Battlefield games. I believe in you guys keep up a good work, noticing and fixing issues and keeping communication with community and reading feedback with clear unbiased mind.
