More Thrustmaster and (insert brand here) joystick support

I have a Thrustmaster 16000M that I bought from my semi-local (1hr drive each way) Microcenter a while ago. It wasn't supported in 2042, which I dealt with, but I would love to use it in BF6. I don't want to use a gamepad to fly a jet or helicopter.

I don't know the console situation with joysticks, but I'd imagine there are plenty of pc gaming enthusiasts who have some nice hardware that they spent money on once upon a time and would love to put it to use in this game. I would like to imagine that if proper joystick/throttle support was added, it would help fuel sales of said hardware and also increase game popularity as well to some degree.

I realize the game hasn't been live even a full 48 hours, but please add joystick support to Battlefield 6 in the near future.

  • Hi there, hidden in the Controller Settings, there are Basic Joystick settings.

  • The joy works then doesn't work. I tried BF4 works, DCS works, BF6 doesn't work. Apparently doesn't recognize it most of the time. Repaired game, reinstalled game, new drivers, no other controllers attached.

When are we going to have Joystick support for BF6? i can't use my Thrustmaster t16000m fcs st

  • I currently use a VKB Gladiator EVO Joystick and mouse to play BF6 and 2042.   Mouse for aiming/shooting/switching weapons and Joystick for movement and everything else.

I am assuming you are on a PC, if not ignore this post.

You just need to bind the joystick buttons, hats, and joystick axes to keystrokes.

You will also most likely need to do one of two things:

    1. Go into your settings and unbind every instance of a controller button/joystick which is a pain
    2. Install and setup HIDHIDE to hide your joystick from the game(so it does not think your joystick is a console controller)

The above will prevent you from constantly looking at the sky or ground while spinning around like a whirling dervish

It is not as good as native analog support for a joystick but since I am unable to use a keyboard for movement and such due to arthritis it works sufficiently well.  My movement is not as precise as being able to tap WASD for very small bits of movement
