Movement change proposal

Dear BF devs;

I have ditched BF6 for BF3 and BF4 as of lately. I feel like BF6 feels more like a CoD rather than a BF and it lacks a big part of the identity of the saga.

There are many things that I think contribute to this feeling - Maps, art direction, visuals, etc. -, but movement is maybe the easier to fix.

With this, I want to talk about the slides. The way the slide works in BF6 right now is too much like CoD, and paired with the small size of the maps in the game, it doesnt play like a battlefield title at all. The slides give too much momentum paired with jumps, makes the gameplay too fast paced and contributes to people playing solo, with no teamplay or cooperation, which are in my opinion main aspects of the BF online experience.

My proposal is: That you cant jump straight from sliding, and that a transition to standing is needed.

Instead of going (run -> slide -> jump)

That it works like (run -> slide -> stand -> jump) with some forced standing frames before being able to jump.

I'm not against the slides in the game, but I think the slide+jump combo doesnt fit the tone of BF.

    It feels like call of duty and plays like call of duty because Vince Zampella was a one trick pony....

  • I've laid out the idea already, but I'm sure EA will continue to chase the CoD mentality of making the game only fun for turbo-sweats.

    Like you, I suggested the additional movement step between sliding and jumping.  I also suggested a movement lock while sliding of 180 degrees, meaning you would only be able to look 90 degrees left or right while sliding and not spin a 360.  I also suggesting drastically lowering the distance you slide, so that players aren't skidding 30 feet every time they slide.  I've since also thought they should limit firing to require the handstop attachment.  In fact, I'd place that requirement to a lot of instances such as vaulting or diving.

    I also explained to them that the "bug" they "fixed" that "limited player speed while hopping" in fact WASN'T a bug and is how the game is supposed to play.  They ADDED that speed reduction in Battlefield 4 because of players abusing bunnyhopping.  Amazing how they don't see the problem now.

    "I feel like BF6 feels more like a CoD". It's CoD movement. Those tiled menus are straight from CoD. The presentation is from CoD. It's a wonder the other lot haven't sued EA.
