Maybe in the future they can expand on it, but also there's arguably the idea of trying to make some sights more in line with their irl performance and/or to balance a few choices out such as better peripheral vision but blurrier harder to see reticle dots.

Sure, I can understand wanting optics to have pros and cons to force the user into choice. You mentioned “more in line with their irl performance” though, which is an interesting thing to bring up. The thing is, for ANY given sight in this game, its real life counterpart is an order of magnitude brighter. A good portion of the optics in game are reflex/red dots that are supposedly illuminated using lasers. Have you EVER seen a dull laser? If you have, you’ll know that it’s not supposed to look like that and the batteries need changing! (Even then, it would be brighter than what they have in game!)
