Someone gonna tell'em that BF6 has some of the highest muzzle velocity of the series? Remember the drop on the M98B? I sure do.
Compared to the previous game in the series, I feel like the bullet’s muzzle velocity has clearly increased. However, I’m not comparing it to past titles. This suggestion is based solely on the current state of *Battlefield 6*.
Isn’t it about time we stopped comparing this game to titles from before the previous installment?

Sure, progression is exactly that, an improvement on the previous versions. I'll not hijack the tread but will mention that high velocity across all weapons and platforms leaves little uniqueness to weapons, including sniper rifles.
If we adjusted to velocities to be similar to other similar weapons, there's no uniqueness nor situations where one weapon performs better than the others.
Where I am most likely agreeing with you, I've interpreted the mini scout to be a mid to long range with high rof for a bolt action, lower damage, and a the noticeable reduction in velocity and bullet drop. When I compared it to the new (but old) rifle in S3 and I couldn't find a situation where you would take the new one in any situation. For me, the sv98 is a sweet spot for most situations with the attachments that can be used.
IMO, if the mini scout had long range ammo with minimal drag, it's just like it's predecessors.
