snipers are fine, the only thing they need to do is remove the range finder entirely.

Once players become familiar with the weapon platform and the unique weapon, they drop the range finder for more useful attachments. Range finder only really works with stationary and long range engagements and those are far and few between because of the short sightlines and narrow kill lanes. Velocity with around 900m/s almost feels like hit scan unless the target is at a dead sprint perpendicular to you or in an open vehicle. If you're not in the active combat area, you're just getting assists if you can't hit the sweet spot or a headshot.
You can bind the range finder to your ADS button but unless you are spot on with your ADS, you'll have to re-set the range finder again. For most, that is a very problematic inconvenience.

sweet spots shouldn't be a thing either. I can see center mass, like a hearth shot, slightly larger area, but that should be for all high caliber weapons not just snipers.

The sweet spot is more narrow than you may think. Many people think that if you're simply "within range" that any shot is the equivalent to a headshot. However, the sweet spot is restricted to the area just below the head and between the shoulders, shaded in RED (rough estimate).
NOTE: I am aiming at the CLOSEST target for visual example. The sweet spot does not work at this close of a distance.
I tested the SV98 and I was able to trigger the sweet spot at the furthest AND the very next target that is closest to the further target.
You can test this in the firing range with the M2010 ESR and stock attachments. Using the Recon class, step all the way back to the back wall, standing next to the table. Aim down sights at the FURTHEST target and shoot the neck area (shaded in RED) just above the center-mass circle. In the picture above, the "sweet spot" is just above the zone labelled with an 8 and just below the chin. The zone labelled with a 7 is the most obvious.
Essentially, the one-shot kill mechanic that includes the "sweet spot" is just a vertically elongated headshot zone. People probably think they are dying to the sweet spot (and some times they are) when they probably already had damaged on them from another source and the sniper simply cleaned up whatever damaged was left over to inflict. Those marksman rifles do smack pretty hard.
If we had damaged based models restricted to caliber and ballistics, everyone would run the same weapons with the same mechanics (not far from the current meta now). By that logic, any .50 caliber shot to any part of the body will result in a kill. Even a .338 would be lethal to shot to the torso, head, thigh, or shoulders due to the damage the energy transfer does to the body.
The velocity of a standard .45 ACP round ranges from 800 to 950 feet per second and the average muzzle velocity of a .338 typically ranges from 1,050 (subsonic) to 3,000 feet per second (heavy loads). So we probably shouldn't get too much into bullet ballistics trying to balance an arcade shooter with aspirations of realism.
Soz, kinda long there.😅
