Permanent ban & EA refuses to unlink Steam account — need help
Hi everyone,
I need help or advice because I’ve reached a dead end with EA Support.
My EA account was permanently suspended for “Hate of Conduct.”
I appealed twice, explained the context, acknowledged that I should have been more careful, and promised to follow the rules. Both appeals were denied and the case was closed.
Here is where the situation becomes unreasonable:
- EA refuses to unban the account.
- EA refuses to unlink my EA account from Steam.
- Because of that, I cannot access games I legally purchased through Steam.
- Steam cannot refund because EA still shows the license as linked.
- EA tells me to talk to Steam, Steam tells me to talk to EA — I am stuck.
I understand that EA wants to protect the community, and I respect that.
But being permanently banned for one word taken out of context — with no prior warning — and then being blocked from unlinking my account and from accessing my paid games, feels extremely unfair and disproportionate.
I’m not asking for a special exception.
I am asking for one of the following:
- Unlink my EA account from Steam so I can use my purchases on a new EA account, or
- Unban my account (even with restrictions like blocking Battlefield 6, etc.), or
- If neither is possible, provide a refund, because currently I cannot access the products I paid for.
Has anyone been through something similar?
Is there any EA staff member or community manager who can escalate this to a higher review level?
Thank you to anyone who can guide me.
