Priorities of BF6 Developers and EA

As a veteran player I find it extremely disappointing that the developers are bringing out season passes and battle royale modes while the core game still has so many issues and things that feel unfinished. The infantry combat feels like it has gotten some good attention since launch and apart from a few exceptions feels quite polished. What I really want to draw some attention to is vehicles and maps.
These are some of the most glaring issue that I have noticed:

  • The maps are all so small, none of them are even close to the size of BF3/4's classic conquest maps. This is a big reason that the vehicle balance and counterplay seems so off to me. Even this version of Operation Firestorm has been shrunk for some reason.
  • MR Missiles are STILL bugged giving air vehicles no warning, ignoring flares, never burning out,  and destroying them in one shot. When the stealth jet missiles were broken they were removed from the game within a day until they were fixed.
  • The tiny maps, relentless lock on spam, busted radar, and lack of terrain cover has made dogfighting in the jets nearly impossible.
  • No jet loadouts.
  • The SPAAs are the least effective anti aircraft tool in the game. The cannon useless unless what you're shooting at is in spitting distance. A
  • At the same time painted targets and legions of stingers are firing at any air vehicle and getting locks and kills on them at what seems like over 1000 metres.
  • I'm not sure what the range on laser designators is but it seems far enough to be able to lock targets across the entire length of every map.
  • Heli gunner camera and zoom are still broken. Also can't decouple aiming from flying (I don't think anyway) like you could in BF4
  • Tanks have 1v1s that last forever because between quick repair and engineers with repair tools, they have near infinite health.
  • Active protection on tanks has a spin up time which takes long enough to make it pretty much obsolete. You will always get hit by whatever is coming at you before you can react, even lock ons that give you a warning that they are on the way.
  • The ground vehicle boost is completely busted, it wrecks mobility, and has to recharge a bar that is also broken
  • No vehicle thermals mean that AT mines in craters and rubble are impossible to see and result in essentially unavoidable instakills.
  • Vehicle resupplies have a cooldown that is shared by the whole team.

I could go on and on.

Meanwhile, they add a season pass that costs nearly half the price of the game, and a new BR mode to cater to streamers and CoD players. If these issues aren't fixed soon, the novelty of this game is going to wear off quite quickly.
