Recon - Sniper

I dunno how the strongest snipers have ever been can be considered "okayish" lol.

Are you playing on PC and trying to kill console players ?

I'm having this same issue with xplay : PC to PC no issues PC to Console cant kill them

The snipping is okish in this game nothing will ever beat BF2 and BF3 / 4 sniping that was the golden years but still if you get a little sniper battle going in BF6 it  can be enjoyable

Stop going for body shots. Sniping in this game is all about the headshot.

Once again, way to miss the point... having fast movement with ability to quickly change direction affects all ranges, the parallax effect has got absolutely nothing to do with it. It's about being able to predict movement and land hits.

An asinine take, this isn't a simulator, cherry picking only long range situations where an enemy doesn't see you, doesn't engage with you or is also using a sniper rifle is not how BF is played. In fact, no single weapon in this game is used in the exact same manner as their real life counterparts. I do find it funny how this once again proves that many players only argue for snipers to have to deal with the real life con's, but not any other weapon class.

Technically true. But then a sniper rifle is meant to be used at a longer range, where said marginally faster speed matters very little (it's called the parallax effect, if you're wondering). Stop thinking a sniper rifle is meant for short range and you may get there.

Completely false, period. I have no idea where you get stuff from, but frankly, that's completely uninformed. If you're gonna insist saying stuff that's simply false, there's no point in engaging with you. 

To refute your replies

- So what? In other words, nothing I said was factually incorrect and your answer does not disprove my point. The top spots should be occupied by sniper rifles alone, not some LMG’s or a DMR’s. Also having to land more hits for reg guns is offset by a much higher fire rate and much larger magazine size, allowing for much more shots in the same amount of time as a slow firing bolt action rifle.

BF games never had much flinch for sniper rifles like in different popular FPS games such as Call of Duty. Yet you have so many jokers acting as if it was removed from the game and needs to be restored.

- Too strong as opposed to snipers, not sure how you missed that point when it couldn’t be made any more clear. You are equating real life to the game, anyone who does that is already pretty much disqualified from the discussion. Do you see soldiers in real life constantly full auto spraying and slide cancelling while soaking up hits and healing from near death after 10 seconds?

- Objectively false. Automatic weapons have higher damage multipliers on average over the entire body compared to sniper rifles, especially the limbs. An automatic weapon that has 25 damage per bullet shoots a limb or the lower part of the torso at close range gets 25 damage. A sniper rifle that has 80 damage per bullet at close range shoots a limb or the lower part of the torso gets 64 damage.

When soldiers move fast it is far more difficult to accurately track and predict their movement, that would negatively impact low fire rate weapons like sniper rifles the most obviously.

-I frequently get lasered by LMG’s, AR’s and even carbines at ranges like 70-80m, that is even while I’m moving. In previous BF games that had better sniper balance like BF1 and BF4, those guns were not nearly that accurate at those ranges. Also sniping someone at medium range like 50m did not get me killed even nearly as often as it happens in this game.  The fact is that automatic weapons have become far more accurate then ever before and the numbers prove that regardless of my own anecdotal experiences that confirm this.

That doesn’t have anything to do with personal skill but with cold hard numbers in the game code, though I am very much aware how reg gun users always try to dismiss this particular issue because the odds are in their favor.

Coming from the "sNiPiNg iS tOo eAsY " crowd without showing any statistical evidence of them consistently dominating the battlefield, that's nothing less but pure comedy 🤡

-Sniper rifles do not have the highest muzzle velocity when they absolutely should as the longest range weapons. It's actually assault rifles, LMG's and DMR's that have the highest muzzle velocities. An asinine weapon balance choice.
-Sniper rifles do in fact have flinch, contrary to what many have claimed.
-Automatic weapons are far too strong in this game, major culprits being too high damage, too easy to control recoil, too high accuracy and too high muzzle velocity.
-All automatic weapons deal max damage even when shooting limbs all day, whereas sniper rifles only deal max damage when hitting the chest and head.
-Fast soldier movement lacking momentum always favors automatic weapons.
-ADAD strafing while shooting with a reg gun can easily outperform sniper rifles even at long range.

I hesitated to bother replying, but then newbies may pass by and read this, so a corrective is in order:

• With muzzle velocities around 1000 m/s, sniper rifles are for the most part the fastest rifles in the game. Admittedly, something like the KTS, when maxed out, can reach 1050 m/s. But not only is it an outlier, also, so what? The mechanics of leading a single shot to the head at 150+m versus 7/8 shots at 80m are so different, I am not sure how this is a lack of balance in any way. 
• There is no flinch in the game, period. 
• Too strong as opposed to what? Automatic weapons are the mainstay of armies around the world for a reason, while single shot weapons, whether automatic of bolt action, are specialized equipment used in very specific circumstances, mostly long range. Not sure what alternative reality the game should be portraying.
• ALL WEAPONS deal max damage adjusted for range to the head, there's a multiplier for each and every one of them. ALL WEAPONS deal base damage adjusted for range when hitting anywhere else. The only exception to this rule is that sniper rifles will also deal max damage to the chest when within the sweet spot: there's no disadvantage there, it's a perk. Also note the base damage of most automatic weapons ranges from 20 to 33 per shot; a mini scout hits for 80, and with much less damage falloff to boot.
• I assume you mean it is easier to hit enemies moving from side to side with automatic weapons (honestly your sentence is not clear). To which the answer is, yes of course, that's the whole point. And of course in reverse it is pretty much impossible to kill someone at 150m with an automatic weapon while casually doable with a sniper rifle. Different guns, different pros and cons. 
• What do you mean by "long range"? I can avoid and beat a bad sniper at 50m by going side to side, sure. I can't beat any sniper at 100+m no matter what, at best, at 100m, I can get a couple of shots in and scare them away. Which really begs the question: why would you engage someone at 50m who has seen you?

You seem to want to compare sniper rifles to automatic weapons when engaging one against the other, which entirely misses the point. Great player may be able to do that and win, but even then, there are playing against the specific strengths of the automatic weapon AND the specific weaknesses of their own rifle. The whole point of this weapon category is to hit people at a distance from which they can't reply efficiently, with the power of one-shotting them to boot. If you haven't found a way to make that work for you, go watch some videos, because frankly, it is not very hard. 

You may want to read a bit about how the sniping mechanics work in this game, snipers are more than fine in this iteration.
