Recon Spec Ops challenge is so stupid

Basically, if you want to play as the "close-range infiltration" Recon - i.e. "Spec Ops", you need to first do the exact opposite of what you want - play as far as possible, to get 50 headshots from over 150 meters away.

Not only is this not what I want to be doing, at all, ever (no offense to snipers, it's just not my thing). WHERE AM I EVEN GOING TO FIND A 150+ METER ENGAGEMENT?

That's more than the distance between many capture points.

There's basically no opportunity to unlock the close range Recon unless you actually go lay on a hill and shoot at the very opposite end of the map all day. NO, THANK YOU.

Just unlock Spec Ops at a certain player level! This is DUMB.

  • Yep, I totally agree. I mostly play aggressive Recon in the BF series, this is going to be a protracted and tedious grind to unlock.

Nobody at EA listens though, unless itโ€™s the sound of your wallet opening.

Good luck, hope you get there soon ๐Ÿ‘

  • I agree, surely the challenge should be somewhat related to the reward.

Something like spots with tugs and cqb kills or killing spotted enemies would be more fitting.

After playing with the sniper rifle before realising it was locked until rank 20 I don't think it will be too difficult, just annoying to play a way I don't enjoy to unlock a way I do like playing.

Boosting because this challenge is legitimately stupid. Forcing me to play the kit the exact way I don't want to, to get the Trait so I don't have to play that way is the epitome of stupid game design.

  • I totally agree. Every assignment should first be sent to aggressive players to ensure their play style is the only one catered for in case their dopamine addiction goes in to withdrawal ๐Ÿ‘

EA_Leeuwโ€‹ I'm bringing this to your attention. I hope that isn't violating any standards or rules. But it does seem that of all the challenges for each class, this one is diproportionately hard and disconnected from a viable recon path to Spec ops.

I know with recent updates EA has done some work in trying to nerf some challenges that prove too difficult.

I personally do not like sniping because I SUCK at it! But love the recon class option to be a stealthy infiltrator. You can imagine my horror and discouragement when I found that if I wanted to have that playstyle I'd have to be a good sniper first.

Wouldn't it make more sense for this training path to be opened up by doing things that relate to it? Like spending a certain amount of time in a contested zone, or using UAV a certain number of times, or using your motion sensor to ping a certain number of enemies within an objective perimeter? This would be rewarding someone who is playing like a spec ops person with more tools to make them better at it.

Can't even boost anymore to accomplish it.

I mean at this point - I'd probably pay $5 to unlock it. Just tell me where to sign

Honestly, they could unlock it at level 50 for all I care. I'd still get it that way LONG BEFORE I'd get 50 headshots at 150m
